They are white, not the blue green that Audi/BMW/Acura/Lexus have, no clue as to why they are like that. I had them on my old ML and loved the fact they lit the daylights out of anything but always felt left out that they were the same color as the stocks.

light output seen in blue is simply a narrow slice of the beam which is refracted
at/around the edge of the cutoff. that can be induced, enhanced, or hardly
noticeable depending on design of the cutoff.

This is absolutely correct. The c-class one is white, except when looking at it from an angle. There's a lot of pics of members' cars on this forum showing the lights from a distance. Below are a few marketing pics.

I know European vehicles like our are ECE code headlights which is to be measure downward 3" from the center of our headlight and US DOT is 2.1", when I first took delivery of the car, I could hardly see down the road because the aiming was so low. Anyone else had this problem?

You can ask dealer to see if they'll adjust it for you. Usually if yours is not at the stock height they'll adjust it to the stock height...but you could have see if they will point it more up for you.

I raised mine a bit two years ago. The adjustment knobs are on the back. This has nothing to do with the self-leveling.

Don't forget that there is something flukey about the left headlight as it aims further down to prevent blinding oncoming traffic. Raising it would give you better visability but you might have somebody crash into you.

I actually did bring it to the dealer and the SA showed me throug this machine, I think it called a beamsetter, it a tv like looking thing that point at the headlight, and he told me that if we go any higher than this line, it would be out of spec. I guess if this was my first car with xenon, then I would not know if it too low or not, but since this is my 3rd car with xenon, MB set their very low, comparing with my TSX and my S2k. I also dont understand how come MB xenon projectors dont produce a nice sharp cutoff like Hondas projectors do. I have to honestly that the only thing I would take over Honda cars are the design of their HID projectors as they were said to be inferior to everyone elses.

Hahah, that for sure. Lolz. The S2K projectors are the best, but definitely not in my schedule anytime soon, hahah.

They are pure white. I will see if I get a chance to take those pictures. BMW, lexus, acura etc use bulbs that have a purple hue when you are looking at them from a distance. this is not so with the Merc. I prefer the bulbs other manufacturers use

Question about the beam level. I'm considering getting an HID kit on my non P2. I've read a lot of the posts over the past few days. Spool, I know that this can be dangerous, but that is why I am having someone install it professionally. If I do get this, and it is aimed low enough, should on-coming traffic not have an issue of seeing when I drive by? Also, the place sells the Phillips kit, but it's going to cost about $230, plus another $80 to install. I was wondering if anyone has had issues with their DDM kit, I was thinking 55w with 5000k. I currently have the Luminics kryton halogens, but I can barely see with them at night (it even said when I got them that they were show lights not for actual driving I think, haha). Any input is appreciated, sorry to jack your thread.

Well there are only two oem manufactures for HID bulbs right now, Philips and Osrams. For the most part, I believe majority of the the car manufactures are equipped with Philips, as they do give out a bit more white color and MB uses OSRAM. Im going to swap my bulbs out for Philips 4300k, Ill keep you guys posted if there is any difference.

You guys get really picky about some of these small details. I just want a light that's really, really bright and projects well. That way I can see things in my path and not hit them. Sharpness at the edge, hue, etc. I don't get it. Who cares what color the BMW xenon is? Find me a brighter bulb that projects farther, and I'll be first in line, even if it costs a grand.
Regards,

Regards,
S2K retrofit will be your best projectors , as they are the best in the industry and probaly is also the most expensive retrofit also. The light output, intensity of light, and definitely wideness are noticable. And Dr. Brian, not sure if you are equipped with xenon or not, but us xenon owners like to compare are HID to other manufactures, it also a good knowledge for people who is looking to do a HID conversion.

Fair enough, and I'm definitely a xenon guy!. I view them as a significant safety advance. It is interesting to note that it seems that mine project down further than those on the Rover, which are of course mounted higher. (down as in toward the pavement, not downrange) The projection level should be the same though, no? Maybe the regulations changed in the last couple years. Perhaps a minor, upward, adjustment is in order.
Regards,
