iPod and glove box?
I just purchased a new C300 today without the iPod intergration kit installed. I understand that I am supposed to connect it via the AUX port in the glove box, is that correct?
Am I supposed to drive around with the glove box open all the time?
Thanks in advance for all of your help-

Question is How do you plan on controlling your Ipod?
You will need access to select playlists or tracks. When you open your glove box there are small areas in each corner which will allow you to close the door while allowing a cable to pass without getting pinched. The place your Ipod in holder.

Your other option s one of the many FM transmitters (by my experience no work properly) or an integration system such as the Harmon Kardon

Nice part about this is the options for output (3.5 mini jack in your glove box, wired fm transmitter or wireless fm transmitter.) I think this is more flexible than the MB integration kit (which is what I added but would not do again)

iPod and Bluetooth?
Thanks for the reply!
I just got my mobile to work via COMAND using bluetooth. And then it dawned on me- why not try and get the iPod to work using bluetooth as well since COMAND can handle up to 10 devices?
So does anyone know of an iPod bluetooth adapter that uses OBEX and/ or HFP 1.0 (it seems that is all that is supported by MB). I have been able to find iPod adapters that support A2DP, but that's not supported by MB.
Thanks again-

I had an employee that bought a Motorola S705 SoundPilot and used that to bluetooth his Blackberry Curve and had the music go to his car stereo.
He basically plugged the Motorola S705 to his stereo's AUX jack and since the S705 is a full bluetooth reciever, he was able to play music on his Blackberry and send it via bluetooth to the AUX using the S705. He can also make and recieve phone calls via the car stereo. There is a microphone on the S705 and the sound comes from his speakers.

I also have a RF remote control that allows me to change tracks while leaving the iPod in the glovebox.
Biggest problem with this car is the AUX in input volume is way low.

on the left side very close to the hinge of the door of the glove box there is a small area that ends up being open for the cord to pass through once the glovebox is fully shut. When I don't have my ipod connected I just stick coil the section of the aux cable that sticks out into the net which is located along the transmission tunnel.
See the white cord in the picture. Look closely. The glove box is fully closed but the white aux cable is coming out.
