How to remove tail lights?

I haven't on the W204, but most MBs are pretty easy. You can get at them from the inside. Just remove the rear covering by loosening the plastic fasteners. Disconnect the light bulbs. Dismount the Housing and it should pop out not into the trunk.

As jangy said, it is very easy, remove the material cover at the rear of the lens then unclip the bulb housing (bulbs will come with it as one unit) then there are 4 nuts to remove (8mm socket required) then gently push the housing from inside the boot (or trunk as the case may be!)
