If anything goes wrong w/ your accelerator or throttle body/drive by wire system MB will burn you warranty or not. I would stay away from this 1.

its so intuitive
since it's installed onto the pedal its not hard to guess it is to do with altering the throttle sensitivity, in other words i guess it's the same as pressing the pedal alot faster with some of you mentioned, it's just that when you didn't have to press this hard you have the feeling of "it is more responsive"
this is like tightenning the throttle cable in japanese cars
not worth the invest for me as i seek something more real

My mother used to drive a ML320 and that SUV was terrible of the line, could have used one of these SB.
I drive a 2009 C350 and I don't have that "lag" of which you speak. I actually have to be gentle upon take off or I will snap my passengers neck . Maybe because the car is new or maybe MB took care of it .
Can anybody confirm this.

Yes, I know, t's insane!

But I love and buy...

This part, SPRINTBOOSTER, working?

Paulo, your english is better than 50% of the america. so no worries. $100,000 and you buy?!! wow, you are either really rich or really love C class.

I think Sprintbooster does work. But it makes the car more responsive/quicker, but no more powerful/faster. I don't know if that makes sense.

People on another thread is talking about update some kind of ECU program that will get rid of this LAG problem. We are still waiting to hear from the guy to give us the program code so we can update it in the dealer.

So, good luck.

That's how much they cost in my area too

to my understanding this SB is no trick to the ECU hence no performance gain
it tricks the gas pedal to make it think ur pressing more than u actually did, in other words is same as pressing ur gas pedal harder and thats all

i buy into upgrading ECU programming story more, or to tune the ecu if the benz ecu is programmable

I really don't understand this lag issue. I don't sense any lag with my car. I press the throttle and my car moves instantly. Am I missing something? I press slowly, the car moves slowly...I press hard, the car accelerates hard off the line...I slam on the throttle, I sit there burning rubber going nowhere. Maybe I can be proved wrong, but I don't see the value of this.

You have a C350, others have a C200.

But I agree with pressing the pedal harder.

I have noticed with my wife's C240 that if I press the pedal halfway to the floor when taking off from a stop, it performs much better than a typical 'gradual' press. If I press all the way to the floor it actually responds worse.

Maybe people with a 'lag' (on automatic transmission cars at least) can try the halfway method and see if it eliminates the problem. It works for me.

Quote: Prior to this car I drove a V6 Accord EX and the acceleration on the Accord was way more responsive then the Benz. Anytime people would ask me about my new Benz I would say "Oh I like it, always wanted one, but it is so slow on the acceleration"
i still have a 350z faster than many cars.. after driving the C, my Z just sleeps in the garage all day. fast, but nothing beats smooth..

I drive a 2008 Nissan Frontier 265hp V6 it's fast for a truck, it will beat most V6 cars and hang with most V8 trucks & SUV's. In fact it's hard to take off sometimes without spinning the tires and such. My friends have ridden with me in it and driven my truck and say it's fast. Want to know something funny....... For all you that say the C300 is slow and weak etc... My wife and I have lined them up a time or two and her C300 (auto) walks all over my Frontier, by lengths. They take off about the same but once the C300 gets out of 1st gear it's gone.... like almost two car lengths ahead every time. And on the freeway I can't even think about catching her or keeping up. Whats more interesting driving the Frontier makes you feel like you will decimate the C300 with ease, it feels like there is 300+ hp under the hood and such while yes I will say the C300 feels slow and underpowered behind the wheel.

oh how I love these threads that stray off-topic sprintbooster what?

I have a Pathfinder and similarly, it feels fast off the line...faster than my c350, but my C350 would destroy it in all aspects. The C-class just has a smoother power delivery and a wider and flatter torque curve. Most SUVs have more low-end torque which gives the initial sensation of acceleration. My Pathfinder then quickly looses steam in the upper RPM range. I had a E46 M3 previously which never really felt fast off the line even compared to the C350. It had a flat torque curve and good horsepower in the high RPM range making it deceptively faster (much faster) than the C350.

It works yes. But this lag problem is there in the BMW as well. You floor the paddle , there a lag and then a downshift occurs. I think its a common problem with all small engine auto gear box.

HEAVY TAX in Netherlands , making C180K a lot expensive... . more expensive than a BMW as well.

Anyway , about the ECU update and ( 5 gear) auto Tranny update , the LAG is stil there but its now lot less than before and gear shifts are much smoother now. in C mode or in S mode.

They should easily find an ECU update if you go to dealer. If you have 7 gear auto tranny then there will be no update for the tranny i think.

Hey Petje,

Wondering whether you, and others who have SB, have any audio noise since installing the SB? When I set the audio input to AUX (but dont play any audio) it is more noticable. The seller is willing to provide an exchange but I just wanted to see whether others SB users are experiencing the same issue.
