Mercedes S204 C320 CDI
Parktronic range
Hi,
For the ones that have Parktronic, I just wanted to share that I feel that it starts beeping only when the LEDS turn red which I feel that's a bit too late for comfort
Coming from Volvo, their system would start beeping much earlier allowing me to adjust the accelerator pedal accordingly. With the Volvo, I never looked back when parking because the system make me fell 100% assured. With the Mercedes, I don't get (yet?) that feeling.
It is just a question to get used to it or do you find also a bit on the late side ?

I don't find it too much of an issue. I'm always checking on the LEDs anyway, and normally stop at 5 yellow. I very rarely go into the red zone, so normally, as soon as I hear the first beep, I stop. However, I've noticed that even when you are in the beep/red zone, there's still a reasonable gap between the car and the obstacle.
One other thing I noticed though is that the radar doesn't reflect well on metal. Eg, when I approach my garage door, it takes the first yellow LED much longer to light, ie I need to get much closer to the metal door, than if that was a wall for instance.

Quick Park is just beeping... unfortunately parktronic isn't offered for the US yet, but then again - a C class isn't exactly an S or a Maybach, so why not just turn around and look? Its cool nonetheless...
