Debadger's remorse
I wonder if anyone else shares my sentiments...
I debadged the C300 emblem last weekend on a whim. I had been thinking about it for quite some time, but never got around to it. Then I was washing my car on a sunny, hot Sunday, and then just did it with a length of silk dental floss. It came right off, and I just rubbed the little bit of glue left with my thumb, and then cleaned it off with a detailing spray.
And now I regret it!
Dammit... now everytime I look at the back of the car, something looks amiss. Something's missing. Maybe I need to glue that C300 back on? Or I'm thinking of making some custom emblems and sticking it on... or SOMETHING.
Argh...

Look at the bright side, now you have free rein to put any combo of letters or numbers you want back there. Hit up the parts department and purchase any of the emblems from any of the other models and make your own personalized C! I would advise you to stay away from putting an AMG emblem there, but you could use the letters separately to form a word or combination that you like. Floyd Mayweather has his name spelled out across the back of his cars, looks classy in a way lol.

I love my debadged trunk. It looks so slick and clean. Thats how the car was designed. Many of them in europe come with it debadged already. I think it looks "missing" to you because your so use to the badges?

I debadged and never looked back. I love the clean sleek look, and it is practical too -- wax and dirt doesn't accumulate in them.
There are always OEM badges for sale on eBay if you don't want to waste time hand cutting 3M double sided tape to your old badges. They also come prespaced so you don't have worry about getting each letter perfectly straight and spaced, you just have to make sure you stick the whole thing on straight. That's where a ruler and painter's masking tape comes in handy.

Keep it debadged. Much cleaner look, IMO. On the S430 4Matic, I had all the badging pulled off, and it sharpened up the rear quite a bit. Have been debating with the SL for two and a half years now lol. Currently it remains badged.

I dunno, I'm still kinda debating about this too...I enjoy driving with both sides badged, sorta like letting ppl know that hey I bought this myself...
but at the same time, debadged does look cleaner and in the long run it will look better too...
I dunno...hopefully I can make up my mind soon, don't want to regret lol

I debadged and think it looks lots better....cleaner. AND...when people see it, they are like, "What class of MB is that?". Nobody needs to know that I have a C300. Keep em guessing, I always say.
If you want to put something on you can go here: http://www.youremblem.com/ and say whatever you want. Or you could find a "P", and keeping your original letters...say "C3P0"
There is a C350 sport here in our parking lot with 18" factory AMG wheels, and he put the AMG badge on it. I think it looks tacky...but to each his own.

2008 Steel Grey C300 Sport 6MT
I debadged mine about 2 months ago and never regretted it. Every now and then I see another C300/350 and think the letters look alright, but I still love the clean look of the back of my car everytime I see it.
The only way I would consider putting them back on is after I painted them Steel Grey to match the color of the car...then I think it would blend and look alright.

I dunno. I personally would rather keep the badge on, but I can see how some would like debadged. I'm against personalized badges however and loath poser badging. Everyone has their own tastes however and at least with badging if you regret removing, you can always put it back.

Saks C350
I'm probably going get flamed for this but it seems to me that mostly C300 owners want to debadge their cars. I would be interested in seeing how many C350 owners are doing this. Don't get me wrong, I do think that it does look cleaner but most C350 owners probably wouldn't do it cuz they wouldn't want people thinking they are driving a debadged C300.
Please don't bash me too hard.

I remember the days when a 300 was nearly the best Mercedes you could buy. Then they added all those other models as the engines got bigger and bigger. A good 3.0 MB was a fine car.
My badges remain intact ;-)
