w204 secrets thread...
With an IPhone, if you activate the voice control on the IPhone (press and hold the button), the "dink dink" noise comes through the bluetooth, and the Iphone accepts the voice input from the car's microphone.
I haven't been able to find a way to trigger IPhone voice control from any of the car's controls. So far, it has to be triggered on the phone itself.
Most useful to me:
*The location of the aux input behind the panel by the glove compartment.
*The key trick to change how the car unlocks (1+3 vs. all four at the same time).
*The all windows down/up with the key fob at the door sensor.
I still can't figure out a few things though, like how to get my mirror to tilt down when I'm in reverse. I've tried the method in the manual and the other method here and neither work. Do I just not have the feature? Also, when I get texts, the COMAND system doesn't offer to display or read it aloud. Is that a phone compatibility issue? Because there is a menu that offers to read texts aloud, but I never get prompted for it.
Also, how do you use the onboard HDD? Does a special menu pop up when you input a disc? Is that the only way to store music to the harddrive?
The trick for using the recirculate air button to automatically roll up all the windows doesn't work on my vehicle either.
**Something I found out by talking to a body shop guy about deleting the fog light issue on the 2012 tail lamps retrofit is that you can manually activate your front fog lamps by pulling the headlight knob out from the dash - like the crown of a nice watch. The first click activates the front fog lights and the second click adds the rear fog light, but only the left rear for me.

if you leave your radio on when you turn off the car, when you start the car again you avoid the legal message about not using the navi while driving. ( my BMW gives me the stupid legal message no matter what)
i actually hadn't noticed this before, but the glovebox door has a coin holder, business card holder and pen holder. also underneath the "long" side of the armrest there's a little rubber case... i like to throw change in there as it doesn't make noise.

I still get a warning from the display about not letting it distract me.
Knew about the little rubber case, not sure what to use if for. My coins go in the removed ash tray. Will have to look for the coin holder et al in the glove box.

It was an amazing find for me!
If you go into the engineering menu (press phone hangup, 1, and # for several secs), go to 7.7.15, you can change the "musicserver func" from "Ripping" to "Copy". This will allow you to use the PCMCIA card slot to bring in MP3's. Warning: changing from ripping to copy, or vice versa, will delete all music currently stored on the HDD! You can either rip CDs, or copy files, not both.
Once you make this change, you have to wait 5-10 minutes before the change will show up. Now insert the PCMCIA card, or a data cd with mp3's on it. Go to the music register, select music register, select copy music files. Pick the card or cd, then whether you want all songs or certain ones, and they will be loaded on to the HDD!
This works on my 09 C63...

38) tilt down mirror won't tilt down if you're backing up quickly
mine is a 2009 c350, it does not tilt down when i Back up...

The only thing to remember is NOT to press the driver side mirror button.
As long as last button I pressed is the passenger side, it always works. Don't need to save the setup in memory 1, 2 or 3.
