Broken Again (Sunroof) Dealer now says they will have a fix soon
Well, my sunroof is broken again. Twice in one week. Eveything in my vehicle worked fine until my first visit to the dealership for the 1000-3000 mile check up. When I got my vehicle back, the sun roof was stuttering and the tire light came on soon as I drove it up the street. Took it back and the sun roof needed to be resync'd and tire monitor reset. Now its doing the stuttering again, only a week later. Gotta bring it back again. I dont know what they did to my car but the sun roof worked fine until the first visit. I would reset it myself but would rather build a service record should I want to file in accordance with the lemon law for florida. Maybe I should have bought the BMW. This is unacceptable.

Went to the dealership today. Had to have it resync'd with the computer. They could not do it as the manual describes. I spoke with the Director of Operations and the Head Mechanic who told me this was a known issue (imagine that). According to the mechanic, he says he attended Mercedes school this past weekend and this was one of the topics. He said Mercedes Corp is working on the fix and will have either new software or a recall to replace the ECM in the sun roof. He said its more prevalent in the United States right now because of the heat. He said the heat causes the unit to lose its memory. In any case, he said they should have a fix within 1-2 weeks. Known issue that wasn't conveyed at time of purchase. Isnt that fraud. Oh well, in the mean time, I will bring it back every time it fails to have them resync it and wash my car.

I wouldn't operate it (sunroof) for 2 weeks until they are prepared to fix it.You don't need to have it fail and possibly rain on your interior.

Its a regular sunroof and when it loses its memory, it still works enough to close but it stutters closed and automatic open and close does not work. There are several threads on it in this forum but no one ever listed a fix. Once I hear more from the dealer, I will share it.

same thing
mine does it too. Had them fix it 3 times. it works now, but I got an email after my last service a week ago, and it said my part was in. I never ordered a part. Turns out the service guy ordered a new part for the sun roof and never told me. So I have to waste my time and take it in again.

I have had to bring in the car twice now with sunroof related issue. Although my problems with the sunroof seem minor compared to some of you.
Basically the first time i complaind about "Vibrating Noise", they said that something needed to be replaced and ordered the part. Anyway they replaced the part and gave the car back but gave it back with a gap between the seal and the roof (back part).
Brought it back and this time the car was kept 2 days. got it back and now the gap is in the front part of the sunroof. basically i can slip a peice of paper in.
Still have to bring it back, but have been to busy with work.
