NEW MB "Sport" Motor 300+hp
Just got off the phone with a Brabus tech and he informed me they will not be making engine performance mods for the current C350. Due to the fact that the '09 C350 Sport will be coming with a MB "tuned" version of the current motor just above the 300hp mark...not just a re-mapped ECU and intake. MB went into the motor to accomplish this gain, in an aftermarket scenario it would be over $10k worth of upgrades.
Anyone else heard of this upgrade for next years C350 Sport???

I don't think this is going to happen soon. I doubt it will be for MY09. There is a slight chance for MY09.5 but most likely for MY10.
The 2009 models are coming out in a month or two and no one has heard of a new motor inside of it yet, but what do I really care about the Brabus technicians? Two or three performance items from Brabus cost $10,000 already so the point that the Brabus tech tried to make changing the internals to make the motor drop out 300hp is MOOT. Their stuff is overpriced, I'm pretty sure there will be mods coming out within the next 6 months for the C350 from other factories.

Hp increase for 3.5 V6
Go to Wikipedia and look up mercedes M272 and it shows that in 2008 mercedes changed the redline compression ratio etc to bump the M272 above 300 horsepower.
Or go to MBUSA and check out the slk and you can see that it already has the uprated engine.
Note: this is no gurantee that the C350 will get the update for 2009 model year.
But the change is coming, the only question is when.
Hope this helps.

there is now 3 current versions of the m272 engine
the one you have in your c350, the port injected 200kw version
the CGI version fitted to euro spec CLS 350 CGI,
and the new high output verion the OP mentioned from the slk. expect it to appear every where soon, as the OP said. it is still port injected.
