Hope it's just an ECU issue. Doesn't sound too mechanical at all.

If its definately the transmission then I would make sure its reported with Mercedes in their records. If they do not fix the problem then call your lawyer and let em know that you have a lemon on your hands.

Mercedes took my friend's ML back for the same problems you are having and paying her back aswell. All The Best!

on a totally unrelated subject.... you mind posting more pics of the rear of your car? I'm debating if I should get my rears tinted and haven't seen many on white w204s.

Be somewhat glad they didn't try to blame your aftermarket wheels or some crap like that.

Im at 13500 on the miles, and since about 10000, my car jerks significantly when it shifts from one gear to the other after i let off the gas sometimes. Not sure which gears because it happens sporatically but its noticeable enuf for my passengers to say WTF as well. Had it in for service and they couldnt figure it out

I have the same problem on my car. Exactly the same situation as what was described. To the guys who had the same problem who posted earlier, were you able to get the problem solved? Any idea what could be causing this? I only have about 37k km on my car.

You have a 2008 model with only 13,200 miles on it???? How does that happen?

I think I'd be finding another Mercedes dealer. With all the computer crap on these cars, you'd think it'd throw out an error code somewhere.

Just a thought, do a ECU reset.

I don't know if this is a same problem

But I had a 2007 C230 automatic and the manual shifting was spot on perfect I loved it for the extra power and engine compression braking.

however I traded that in for a 2010 C300 4matic with automatic transmission

and while it shifts great most of the times I noticed a huge jolt every now and then going from 2nd to 1st when coming to a stop, or I just need to rev down (braking) because of slow traffic.

Is that just normal on the W204 models or is the transmission problematic? Or should I just not drop it from 2nd to 1st. All the other gears seem fine.

If a software flash does not fix the problem Benz know that they have an electrohydraulic unit/valve body problem on some 722.9 transmissions & will replace the entire valve body. The speed sensor problem is part of this.

The transmission is as strong as an ox which is why AMG use it and not Benz crappy MT which could not absorb the power they produce. You will break an engine mounting before you break the box. Just a few gremlins crept into the Electrohydraulic unit on some boxes. Problem is fixed. Tell Your dealer to make sure you have the latest software flash. If harshness or bad behavior continues then make them replace the valve body. Get it done under warranty. It would cost you big time if you had to foot the bill.

Hello everyone, Well I had the same problem with Jerking from first to second gear. After my car was at the dealership for 1 month, They finally got the ok from Mercedes to drop the transmission. They found out that the k1 clutch in my automatic transmission was worn out so they replaced and and it got rid of the jerk.
