iPhone 3G and Bluetooth sync

Hi,
I am not sure if anyone else has got the new 3G iPhone but was anyone successful in pairing this with the C300 MM bluetooth system? I used to have no issues with a Nokia N73 but with the new 3G iPhone, even though I switched on Bluetooth, the car does not seem to recognize the phone.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

I never had any BT problems with my regular iphone though I'll be getting the 3G either today or tomorrow so I'll let you know how it turns out

I had no problems today getting my IPHONE 3G to work at all.

First, turn off activate bluetooth on the car, then reactivate it. Then, make sure you delete your old profile on the car. Turn on bluetooth on the iphone and pair it. It will ask you first on the car to assign a PIN, then you put the same pin on the iPhone.

Enjoy.

The car won't at least charge it?!?! I just want to kill engineers sometimes....

I suppose it still won't work as an iPod either... I guess they REALLY want to see their iphone kit I read about for the car... From the looks of that though, you'll have to keep the phone in the arm rest so that will be a deal breaker for me unless they implement SMS with the MM system.

I too had zero issues pairing my iPhone 3G either.
Try manually re-pairing it with the guide that xntrek posted.

On a side note, I'm suprised with the amount of people on this forum who purchased the iPhone 3G on launch day...we're all fanboys.

As a side note, I was surprise to see the signal strength (am not sure if this was the bluetooth strength / cellphone signal strength) on the MM console screen - this was not seen when I used to pair with a Nokia. Please see pics for reference - the signal strength appears as set of bars on the top (or bottom of the screen when in full screen NAV mode).

Yup those bars are supposed to be there, not sure why your Nokia didn't have them though. I don't believe it's an iPhone-only feature.
Congrats on the successful pairing though.

Nope...at least that's how it appeared yesterday when I was in the car. The iPhone 3G is essentially the same as the iPhone Classic but with a 3G radio and GPS. Bummer though.
