Hey Guys,

I just got my Black painted front grill in the mail today. I bought it from the user "GPI" on the forums. It looks fricken amazing in person.

I like it!

Was this person just selling one he had or has been making them?

Grats! This is one mod that every w204 owner should do if they own black or white.

You're right. I'm debating whether to wait for a CF one or paint it for my Palladium Silver.

You should paint it, and then wait for the grill.

I really want to do it, but I don't have a garage of my own to do the spraying in. Can't do it outside in the open, now, can we? That'd be crazy. Plus, I gotta figure out what to do about the gaping hole in the front while I wait for the paint to properly cure and such.

I think the only solution is to construct a makeshift paint booth in my driveway with some 2x4's and a tarp from Home Depot.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Concept!

Wait. No. I guess I could take it to the garage of one of these condos near my house. Why didn't I think of that before? I think I'm painting mine this weekend.

Paint it now while you wait

It's also a simple DIY for under $50.

The kind with platinum particles embedded within. The metal helps the paint resist chips and cracking.

He bought the extra grill at his dealership then took it to his paint shop for me. I paid him for the supplies and labor. I'm impressed too with the quality of work done on it.

Thanks guys for the nice comments, yea hopefully someone will make a CF front grill where the black painted areas would be CF.

VHT Heavy Duty paint cost me $20 with shipping. I had bought the Krylon paint, but I didn't like the shade when I did a test on it, so said screw it and went with the VHT. Take that, plus sand paper, plus paint tack wipe. That's around $30.... then factor in the feather the flew onto my wet paint and having to sand the paint down again, buy another VHT can to repaint....$50!!!

At least I learned just how "Heavy Duty" that paint really was. I should have just rented a sander or something. Blisters and sore shoulder from sanding that thing back down!
