The problem with that survey is they use obscure cars to the average person. Yes we here at the MBWorld forums are car nuts and we know the differences between the normal models, but lets face it, the average person is going to know what make it is and not that its a high performance model. So actually your car would be a dude magnet and not a chick magnet as one of those posters there suggested.

frankly just based on observations women tend to value the mercedes brand more, yes there are some who do know about cars and their specs but for the most part women, men, whoever still have high regard fro mercedes in general and may not "know" the behind the scenes of each model.
I personally chose the new C for it's styling, the front-end is sexy and ive had many ppl comment on it, and yes girl's say "thats a hot car".
A big part of it is that its a new design, i was at a meet lined up with BMW's and it stood out and got good comments, but i think for the most part it's something refresing, sleek and new..... and we've all seen every other person with a 3-series.

My post from that thread:
I am inclined to say NONE OF THE ABOVE. The person, man (or woman these days) are the chick magnets. Your swagger, style, personality, attracts. A car, if that is what attracts a woman you need to RUN not walk away.

Now it's DONE.

I agree yes, but one could also make the argument that nice car represents good money/income/job which represents financial stability. This is also very attractive to women. I don't think there's anything wrong with a woman who's looking for someone who has his life in order. Of course, just having a nice car doesn't mean someone is financially stable, but is one of the many valid indicators that can be used to measure a mate.

I've said this in a different thread before:
I know a guy who in the late 90s leased a new 3-series. I was in college by then, and he... never made it. He put $0 down (this was the good ol' 90s), and worked full-time at Mrs. Field's cookie shop (35+ hours) to make his lease payments, all the while living at home.
He was pretty popular with the ladies: all still in HS.

Very true. I agree on all points made. But...

I do agree though. Back in the caveman days, big arms and thick legs meant security for the ladies. Gotta catch those mastodons for dinner. These days, other things signal security. Nothing wrong with looking out for yourself (for the ladies, I mean). Don't mean to be sexist or anything here. ![nix](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/nixweiss.gif)
On the topic of the OP, I think different girls like different cars. It seems like the younger they are, the more they like BMWs (335, M3, most don't really know the difference). Older (20+) gals seem to gravitate towards MBZs. Then 30+ girls who've been around the block a few times will appreciate the Aston Martins and such, I guess. My gf loves the look of the Astons, but then 2 seconds later when I start talking about the car she just saw, she goes, "What's an Aston Martin?"

Just to be the one to throw a wrench in this discussion...if you want to have a lot of women coming up to you or stopping you on the street to talk to you about your car it's simple...get a Smart. Women see those coming down the street and will chase after them like a flash back to a Beatles video. Be warned this effect is short lived..anyone recall the redo of the VW Bug?

The other day I was in a parking lot and this guy who was parked next to me started asking me questions about my car. He asked me how much it was and I told him "10k" and he said "wow that's nice, what year is it?" I told him it was a '95 and he said "wow, it still looks new!"
He was driving some old beater, I guess he really had no idea.
