Iphone and Bluetooth problems.

Has anybody got the new Iphone to connect with the MM system? Sometimes they find each other but won't connect, other times they can't find each other. The old Iphone worked fine but not this one!

I had no problems linking the 3G
it was pretty straight forward.

did you delete the old iphone from your car 1st?
it doesn't accomidate 2 phones linked so you need to get rid of the 1st one before adding the new one

Yes I did delete the old one. The whole linking process finds nothing now. The iphone used to find "mb bluetooth" but now sometimes it finds "hands free" and the car finds nothing. I have up dated the phone software also thinking that would work but it's still a no go.

when i first got the car the tech setup my bluetooth to my blacberry. it use to work np. i have since gotten a new blackberry and deleted the old one from my car.

he mentioned at time of set up there is 2 ways to do it.

1) have the car look for the phone

2)have the phone look for the car.

i have tried both ways and can not seem to get my bluetooth to connect. i am sure there must be a step that i am missing. best thing is take it in and get the tech to do it

hmm...
let me check with my car tonight and see if there is a step missing

so the MB bluetooth is not in the list?
it sounds like one of the 2 are not searching.and since your iphone can find a handsfree, Im guessing the MB is not searching for anything.

I had both car and phone search each other when I set it up.
my car asked to set a password for pairing.

what steps did you two take to pair them up?
it may just be the order of operation
start with iphone search, MB search find iphone(or what ever you named your phone), MB password code, and enter it on to your phone.

I just did this last week with no problems. Have the car search for the phone (via the "system" settings). I know it sounds weird, but mine only found the phone when I held the phone almost right up to the MM screen. I entered 00000 for the car code and the same for the phone code. It now pairs flawlessly every time I get in the car.

Maybe a stupid question, but do you have Bluetooth selected "on" on the Iphone>settings>general menu of the phone?

Yeah the bluetooth is turned on. I set the phone to search and then the car. I might have the dealer check the system and update it if that is what they do. I don't know if they update the car software for the MM system. I'm about ready to give up! So hopefuly they can do something. Even the one time the car found the phone and the phone found Mb bluetooth, they wouln't link and authorize.
