Back hit

Hi,

I just hit a pole while reversing with my S204 despite having the Parktronic on !!

Well, a bit of paint came off and one can see some white material underneath. My question is this: is it fine to leave like that and wait for an occasion to do multiple repairs at once or is it better to repair it right now because of rust appearing ?

It sucks !

So the white stuff underneath the paint is just plastic ? If so, then I leave it like it is.

Also, because of the insurance franchise, I prefer that, after 2-3 years of town driving and parking, I pass all the potential little bumps under one single repair bill.

In the US there are now these service guys that fix bumpers in your driveway by airbrushing the paint. They seem to do a really good job and the price is reasonable because they don't remove/replace the cover and only spot paint the damage.

You might seek such a service in your town and perhaps they can get you fixed up for a low cost and keep the insurance company out of it all together.

The paint repair guys have regular routes and show up at car dealers (MB included) regularly to patch up trade-ins. Go to your dealer and ask when the service they use will be there next time and be there. You can probably deal with them privately and inexpensively.

Same thing with Dent Wizard and interior repair. It's a cottage industry.

Oh oh. I failed to notice that you do not live in the US so just forget my comment. Most likely, these services do not exist in Belgium.

Yes, I have been there.
