Holy ****! Thats one hell of hole. This is comparable to when Benny "The Jet" Rodriguez blew the guts out of the ball in The Sandlot. I'd go run the car into a tree and show MB corp. that wheel and go pick yourself out a nice AMG lol
They honestly would have to do something for you for that. That is potentially life threating isn't it? You could bring a law suit for something like that even! Really though, nice pics good thread!

Thats what I plan on doing. I tried to look into the hole at the inner surface of the tire, I do not see anything yet, but some views are obstruced. It would make sense that there are marks on the surface of the tire towards the rim IF I hit something.

Part of the problem is that there is only one dealer here and if they demount to inspect then decline that it is faulty then its a done deal. Right?

why go to the dealer, u need to contact MERCEDES BENZ directly, shyt post it on youtube.com i bet u will see some result then, and also put the dealership that said "we not doing anything to help u" on blast, believe me, that will get some attention, not only from mercedes but that dealership. INTERNET is a powerful tool, now days!, u can more than reach out and touch someone.

but hey its all about how important good service is to u!

The dealer has been great so far. Impeccable service and honesty. I will see what happens tomorrow, besides I NEED a wheel ASAP.

I was going between 38-45 I would guess. Traffic was in front of me and we had just turned left from a traffic light, approaching a bridge over the river.

Tire pressures were correct, I am very interested about the alignment still.

Ouch !!! I must say when I saw your pics I had to think that Frank was right. That sort of perforation had to come from hitting something. Sorry it's been so expensive for you but at least you & the car are OK - Good luck

was the original tpms damaged? I understand you replaced the tire just to be safe.

WOW O, When I see stuff like this. Makes me wonder if I should have spent the $450.00 for the 4 year tire and wheel damage protection.

I did not get to see it personally but i was told that it was cracked. I have to say that even though this was a crazy event, the dealer while expensive, has given me great service and did infact consider that it could have been a defect issue. The result is that it was not a defect and I appreciate their commitment to service.

Holy COW Information Priceless

Maybe you can do something for your only local MB dealership and help them sell the protection plan and get some $$ off..
