A 55W kit will not generate errors as it's the same load as 55W H7 fogs... But a 35W kit will give errors.

And why would a 55W kit overheat? Stock lights are 55W too... So it stays at 55W heat output for the bulb!

i just ordered and installed the DDM 55w kit. the lights work great until i start engine then i get dash error and flicker.

i thought 55W wouldn't require error cancelers. the box and parts were unmarked (how do i know if i got the 55W)...the h7 HID bulbs are longer than the stock ones though...

Hey Hellasmania, I was just planning on doing my 55w installation today, and I also thought 55W didn't need error cancelers.. so looks like it does then? Are you gonna order the error cancelers now? and also, did you end up drilling a hole in the cap? Thanks, Chris

Update: I put in the H7 bulb, and besides getting an error, I also notice that my HID only stayed on for maybe 5 seconds.. does anyone here know why? I might have connected the cables wrong, but I read the installation guide and it seems correct... Can anyone help?

i just cut out a slit from the inner edge of the cap. another user posted such a picture

hopefully Vector02 won't mind as i think this is his picture.

I used a dremel tool and cut out the tab. works ok but wires may be slightly pinched. shouldn't be a problem though as you wont be playing and twisting these caps much.

and i went ahead and ordered the error cancelers since i don't want to be using my bicycle at night for too long.haha Paul at DDM said that the mercedes computer is real sensitive on the resistance of the HIDs and picks up the error...i'll update as soon as i get the part in

Thanks man, I might need to order a set of error cancelers too then. I still don't get why my bulb only light up for like 5 seconds though. I suppose no one else is experiencing this?

As for a group buy, let me see what I can do, but honestly as you can see from the prices that stealth auto has, our prices are very very low. But I'll try to squeeze a few dollars out from somewhere.

James,

Do you have a plug and play kit for a Porsche 996? The bulb harness is different I think it uses one big wiring harness for the entire headlight assembly & not each bulb wired individually. So when you change bulbs, the entire headlight assembly comes out. but I would be interested in a plug and play solution for the 996 if you have one.

I see that your in OC, if possible I would like to see the car in person, we have over 40 different bulb applications in stock and I'm sure we'll have the correct setup for you. If you want to stop by, we can do the install for you and get you squared away. I dont want to give you incorrect information.

had flicker and no HID on engine startup...ordered and installed DDM error cancelers today and all is great.

5000K DDM 55W kit is pretty white, blue tint only visible upon immediate start and disappears once HIDs are warmed up....
