U.S. Paddle Shift Install?
Does anyone have information or already done this. I would speculate it should be plug & play with a reprogram of DME or BCM…
I realize it is of no performance value, but I would like it just for aesthetics.
Thanks for any help…

but the C63 has C>S>M modes and "M" being Manual so I'm not 100% sure they will work.

I tried looking the part numbers up through epc and found a lot of them… got to work on decoding the colors and options..
I hope I can just get the wheel and reuse the airbag…
Any Mercedes Tech’s that can lend a hand? Any others interested?
Would love some help from anyone... my car has black leather w/MM pack..

"To get the most out of the seven-speed automatic, the new Sport Agility package quickens up shift action generally and also adds shift paddles mounted on the steering wheel. Unfortunately the Sport Agility package won't be available in the U.S. until the 2009 C-Class is introduced, and without it there's too much delay for us during downshifts".
I know the review is old, but might be coming to US. Read also in previous posts that in Canada, the 2009.5 C350 will have the paddle shifters.

Unfortunately, there hasn't been anyone in Canada getting their C350's to confirm this (and then possibly figure it out).
I love it and drive it about 3 days a week.
I have an 2004 (996) C4S with the full leather &Carbon Fiber pkg…(Porsche knows how to put a real carbon fiber kit together… even the steering wheel is carbon/leather).
If you could I’d recommend the 2005 (997) and up… besides the obvious (newer model than mine) they improved some of the rear main seal issues and added a 3.8L motor in the ‘S’. I chose mine because I did not like the front end and the ‘S’ models did not look very different from the regular ones… the 2001-2004 had the turbo wide body, turbo brakes, suspension, drive train…. Make sure you have the car inspected by a reputable shop.
On a side note….
Anyone?…. can help me get a ROW Vin# so that I can input it in the EPC to try and get a part # for the shift paddle steering wheel…..
I have MM pkg., Premium 2, … ahhh I don’t know what other info on my options would be relevant?

Maybe trade-in the C300 February or March next year. Thanks for the info vaderSS, yea I liked the 04 with the turbo body because I wasn't thinking of getting the S model (since they are pretty expensive up here). But the newer ones with the more circular headlights do look quite nice too.

nice gt2 wing btw.
personal choice if i'm getting P-car would be 996 C4S because of the turbo look and no turbo maintenance or the 997 S because of the wider rear.
Those are the stock 18" wheels.... the cayenne has the same width all the way around. I have the stock 18x8.5 front & 18x10.5 rear...
Thanks the wing is actually a GT2-M wing.... not much different except to the wallet

now... anybody know how to speak german?

from looks of it, it isn't from C63 AMG, it's from AMG packaged (aka Avantgarde) w204 models.
if it is, installation should be very straight forward. just tap +/- from paddle to gear selector +/-. but don't take my word for it. lol
The only thing that gives me pause is his five (5) sales.... seems to low for me.... and he only dhl's to germany...... and no backside pictures with connectors....
But Awesome find White46!

Yeah, my C 300 Avantgarde S has the paddle shifters and C-S-M selector. Kinda fun to drive it in Manual mode.

Lemme know if you still need a part number, etc... You can PM me.

whkento... I would love the part #....
RLE, micropower99, madracer..... yup u guys have valid points.... I do have a connection in the service department (we play xbox live). On his access level he can not see ROW vehicle parts
... he also claims the set up is there( to his info) and is just plug in...??? he claims that there is a check box not grayed on in the factory diag tool???
Now I agree with you guys that that would be to easy, however with stuff like the reprogram for the reverse camera(which we don’t have in US) already loaded into the Command system this paddle shifter seems possible?
I may be going down a long road for what would be mostly aesthetic.... Sometimes the U.S. just gets shorted on car options and features.... just wished I wasn’t the only one in the U.S. looking to add this mod….
Im wondering if it is "plug and play"... maybe theres a harness or some kind of connector near the steering column, and we just have to buy the new wheel and paddleshifters, connect it up, and maybe it might need some programming from the dealer...

hey micro you thinking of trading the C, i got my eye on a Maserati Gransport myself
