anyone know how to take off the shiftknob kind of wanted to make it a smaller shiftknob or something lke that

 

I changed mine, it was fairly easy. Pull on the leather boot towards the dash, it will pop right out. then unscrew the handle about 1/3 and pull the handle to take it off the metal rod. If you have any problems there is alot of threads on this board on this topic.
