Tinted driver side mirror?

Does anyone else have this? I was driving last night and when i went to switch lanes i could barely see out of my drivers side mirror. My passenger side mirror was fine.

Then this morning i noticed like a film covering 90% of it, but in the daytime it wasnt tinted. Whats the purpose of this?

To prevent glare. Auto-dimming mirrors are part of P1, your rear view mirror also auto dimms at night. I don't know if it can be turned off or not.

I believe there is a switch on the rearview mirror to turn it off.

Hey thanks guys. I will try to get used to it but it was strange that i was barely able to see. Maybe i wont get my windshield tinted haha.

Why isnt the passenger side equipped with that? I figure it would make sense no>?

im not sure about a switch to turn it off but there is a small sensor in the middle your rearview mirror...if you cover it up with something your mirrors will not dim

if only only mirror side was dimmed it was probably because the sensor only detected light on that side. It is really helpful when light is hitting directly in your eyes. I don't believe there is a way to turn it off, only maybe if you manipulate the sensor.

at night what else do you need to see other than the headlights of the cars behind you?

i think it's a matter of just gettin used to it.

i do know some ppl who hate that it dims tho.

it is only on the driver's side which is weird because my other cars have it on both sides. just a cost saving thing.

also i dont think there is a switch, i cant find it anywhere
