I have the black wood grain trim on a c350, is there a steering wheel that has this same trim on it, rather then all black mbtex?

cus in the us, u can not even specify one anywhere on the MBUSA website in black birdseye when configuring the c350...

does it fir right and is it an exact replacement for OEM or is it slightly different?

 

The steering wheel is for all W204 models except the C63 AMG and can be ordered thru your local MB dealer.

It fits perfect since it's an OEM part that replaces the OEM non sport steering wheel.

 

I OEM "SPORT", not non sport...

It will fit on a Sport model but you would have to but a new airbag too since the airbag from your sport steering wheel will not fit.

 

I suggest you wander down to your dealer and hold one in your hand. They might just have the one shown on the order sheets. I ordered one in beige ten months ago which is when we discovered that they only come in black. Sent it back.

I have been talking to a sales guy at Performance Products about a wood/leather wheel in beige since late last year since their catalog shows a wide variety of wheels for other MB models.

They still cannot source any wood/leather wheels for W204 since their previous supplier is no longer an OE supplier to MB. Very likely if and when they can get them, the full range of colors and woods will be available.

I bought a beige wood trimmed wheel for my W203 from them about 2002 and it was a high quality piece.

 

Are the steering wheel buttons a little different? The left lacks the return button and the right doesn't have the linguatronic button.

 

buttons do look a little different.

as for the standard steering wheel. i believe it is not mb tex, but actual leather. have mb-tex for the seats still give you a leather steering wheel.

 

Yes, the picture here has the standard steering wheel buttons. They get these buttons that come as part of the airbag, so no worries -- your dealer will get it right.

I absolutely love my wood/leather steering wheel -- I truly think it makes the car :-)

 

That would be a very nice upgrade. If you can make it work, you should do it. Very nice touch of class.

 

there is no easy fit for a wood wheel for the SPORT version.. how many times must i say this... you have to mod a luxury wheel, and even then, it would be in the wrong color...
