Pics of 2009 with new mirrors?

I haven't noticed wind noise from the 08 mirrors. At 80 mph, there is a bit of tire roar but pretty minimal wind noise.

those that said the 204's current mirror don't have wind noise...you either never driven other MB or your previous car was loud.
my 203's mirror doesn't create nearly as much wind noise as my 204's.

I like it.
I would venture the black arm will be in body colour when it hits our shore.
To me, the current mirror looks quite dated and more like for a M class.

Sorry you got a loud car but don't assume to know anything about what other owners have driven or drive on a regular basis. Maybe the noise is from the weatherstripping, etc and some cars just don't have an issue with it??

2009 US Spec C350W Mirror...
The mirror was described by the factory tech as somewhat modified for 2009, but I could not tell/recall the subtle differences. One thing I have noticed is the sharp edged fillet from the corner of the window to the mirror mount. Maybe this is one of the features contributing the significantly lower noise levels in 2009 models.
I drove about 575 miles at speeds up to 110 MPH and there was no wind noise from the mirrors. The mirror position is stored in memory along with the seat and steering wheel settings.
Hope this helps.

you can deny it all you want, but the fact remain that the big mirror does create a lot more wind noise than previous MBs. go ahead and take a drive at 45mph with your windows down and mirror's folded and then un-fold the mirror. the mirror on the 203 doesn't create nearly as much noise.

Maybe off topic for you in US but in Europe the new mirrors were introduced in production third week of august. My S204 180 K was produced that week and I like the new mirrors a lot. Especially on a dark car (tenorit grey) as the mirrors are smaller and you don't get the big white glas the disturbs the look of the car. But that's just my opinion.
Well that was my first posting here after been reading the 204 group for quite some time....
Regards
Joe

Dear Mr Holley
Mercedes-Benz Model: C-Class C 200 CDI
Chassis No:
Registration: FG58
Thank you for your most recent e-mail concerning the wind noise that you are experiencing when driving over sixtyfive miles-an-hour.
We have been informed by our Technical Support Department that changes and modifications are an ongoing process throughout the production life of any model, and there was a model change from August 2008 production of the C-Class range when new smaller wing mirrors were introduced.
As far as we are aware there are no plans to recall earlier produced vehicles to fit these smaller mirrors, and any retrofit request by a customer would be at their own expense.
Thank you for contacting the Mercedes-Benz Customer Assistance Center with your enquiry.
Yours sincerely
Michael Bacon

My brother just got an 09 and it has the 08 style mirror. I would hazard a guees that the US market won't see the new style till the 2010 model or late in the 09 model year.

I like them on my car, they don't stand out on Tenorite
Re the wind noise: the C250 CDI BlueEfficiency has streamlined mirrors according to what I saw.

I like my '08 mirrors personally. Wind noise seems acceptable. I do like the folding feature and use it quite a bit, but given the choice, memory seats might take precedence. The compass in the rear view would also me a nice plus. Even with the nav, it's a pain to switch to it just to see what direction you're currently heading. Have a simple compass in the mirror would be a nice addition. Might have to see if I can get one from a bone yard in a few years...

not sure why the fifth MB matters, some ppl's definition of noisy are jsut different. This is my first MB but my fifth car, coming from toyota, nissan, infiniit and bmw. this car by far has a clear distinctive wind noise from its mirrors when driving around 50-60.
Even MB recognizes it, hence the newer, streamlined, and smaller new mirrors. check out the new GLK, it uses the new 09 mirrors as well.
