Question to C63 style grille owners

I know a group bought these a while back. I ordered mine from the seller on ebay (listed as Canadian) but the product was shipped from Taiwan. Does anyone have an issue with fit? My top edge seems to stick out about 1/2"-3/4" and is not flush with the hood. Is that normal?

I did but after seeing everyone posting their new pics- I gave in and bought one. I think I like my painted grille better.

No problems here, mine is flushed with the hood, no gaps nothing.... have you used the bracket on the top of the grill that was delivered with the grill? If not, that can be the problem... I know that some OEM luxury grills also has a gap at the hood...

I used the supplied bracket and have adjusted it as far back as possible. I don't have a gap. The grille protrudes past the edge of the hood. All the other lines match up nicely. Sorry for the crappy pic but it was dark in the garage.

Ok clear, thats the problem... i dont have that problem....

Isnt there a way to make the drill breaches from the bracket a little bigger so your grill can go more back ??

WOW what a crappy picture man, sell your grill and buy a good camera

I drilled the holes about 3/4" and pushed the grille back as far as it would go. It was a little better but still not right.
BTW I apologized about the pic taken in a dark garage (I guess my Leica doesn't like having it's pics auto adjusted)

I figured out it was the top part of the bracket assembly (on the grille) hitting the radiator shroud. Cut enough off so it clears- looking better.

I at first loved my grill c63 style from taiwan (search for the pics i posted)

but now, I am noticing it has slight imperfections (like the chrome slats bulge out around the star and do not sit flush when looked at closely) and may be a little too much chrome for me...

i might do carbon fiber overlays on my old grill now...

but as far as fitment, mine fits exact visually, except when you close it, it has to be slammed a little harder because the right side doesnt sit as flush when the hood is open.. but only when the hood is open.... once closed, it pushes down to being flush and looks visually perfect as far as alignment along the top goes...

also, another little nitpick i recently noticed...

Compare the size of the star on your OEM sport grill and the star on the replica c63 grill...

even though the part came in a OEM box with a real mercedes part number, the part came from another mercedes model originally and not the w204 because of the different width of the "star blades".... look closely... it is genuine, but from a different model mercedes....

Still trying to decide which star looks better, but i almost think the original w204 one does because it is slightly fatter and looks more uniform

Make sure the lower bumper tabs are fully engaged forward. If not, the grill will pivot on the side post supports and protrude at top.

Check out pics on this thread page, some projection at top seems typical. Thread includes 2 install links.

the T bracket you installed is causing the bulge.
the factory grille has set the T bracket bolts tightened in the middle and not far back.

IMO I love the style-up created by the combination of the painted amber lamps plus the C63 style grille. give it a really great euro look.

I used to be upset to see another palladium silver besides me, but now I get people looking at the front and noticing the differences puts a smile on my face every time.
