How long does it usually take you per wash? I wash every other week but take about two hours each time.
i can vacuum, clean wheels, wash, dry, quik detail, windows, and interior in about an hour. sometimes more if neighbors distract me, but lately i have been putting the ipod on and ignoring them.

Wash and dry about an hour. I only do the inside once a week or so and that only adds about a half hour.
It tends to be around every two weeks for me, doing touch-ups here and there.

I always do a very thorough job and take my time...kinda like therapy I suppose. It's nice to walk away knowing it is a lot cleaner than the day you drove it home...Originally Posted by sleewell

"wanna do mine next?"
"can you make my car shine like that?"
i hear it all from my neighbors. i am definitely labeled the car wash guy, but apparently there are worse things to be called.
haha good thing I don't have to deal with those questions because my closest neighbor has an old toyota tercel and lets it sit under a tree gathering dirt even spiderwebs no kidding. Originally Posted by sleewell

Even though its an old car it still needs a wash at least once a month when she does wash it she just hoses it with water.:\
other than that my neighbors always see me outside waxing the cars or cleaning the interior.

It has been once a week since I got it. My dealer does free car washes for life between the hours of 10.00am and 4.00pm. It is closer than any car wash and they have a lounge with bagels, coffee etc. Believe it or not the free car washes was the clincher on me buying the car, I love free stuff.

It's getting to be rainy season. I don't wash the car when it's raining outside. Let mother nature do that, eh?
So, the car is dirty. Muddy dirty, maybe? Well, washing it is an exercise in futility when it rains here: less than 1 commute round trip to make the car just as bad as when I started. So, I'll wash it again if the sun decides to come out for a week or two.

Rain is one of the most pollution enemies (chemical attackers) of the modern world.
Take care of your wheels, even if it cost you to be sleepless in Seattle.

Thanks. Fortunately, out here on the Wet Coast, our rain is fairly acid-free. But once on the road surface, it gets mixed up with all kinds of grit and that gets on the car. I've been looking at the car, sitting in the garage, and wondering how to wash it with a bucket. Can't get it out due to the foot of snow right behind it, but there it sits. Hmm. And me with plenty of time on my hands. Hmm.Originally Posted by JoeVal

Right now, that Barolo Red looks awfully, awfully, tan/brown.
Probably the worst thing about all the grit is how people might brush against the car and grind that grit into the finish. Ugh.
i'm a 1 to 3 times per week person... but mine has been parked almost a week and no signs of getting out... this bad weather makes me miss my truck! I have an itch to jump ship to an SUV but i know better...LR3???

I wash it every 3rd week or so. I do vacum it every week. Its insane to wash the car every week. Unless and untill it really gets dirty. It rains here a lot but it does not make the car dirty as very less dirt. Only problem is wheels getting black due to brake dust.

I haved owned the car since April. I have only washed it once and hosed it a few times. I used to the bring it to the car wash when the car was new. That was it. Due to infrequent wash, you can actually see black water stain from the ran running down the door handles....

Quick wash every 3-4 days in winter and once a week in summer time

Once every 2 weeks or when it gets dirty. Sadly its been too cold to wash it. Just got back from a 4 day trip to Vermont and it's DIRTY. Got back Sunday, tried to wash it Monday but the hose was frozen! Maybe I'll wash it tomorrow on Christmas before everybody arrives ;]

It just always clean. I'll wash it twice in a day if it needs it. I keep cleaning supplies in the car for quick touch up if it requires minor work. I even wash it during snow or rain, if its a few day and more is still expected.
So I dont care about the weather I just like her to look clean anytime I take her out.
