video works while I'm driving
I don't know how or why but I can get a DVD to work while I'm driving. I discovered this one day when I was driving when I accidently switched to video and the picture came on. Sometimes it works sometimes it does not. I haven't figured out what needs to be "in place" for it to work. I've been experimenting and I know today after I hung up from a call I switched directly to video and the picture went on, almost like I need to catch it off guard. I'll keep messing around with it and see if I can spot a pattern, if I can figure it out, it beats spending money on a VIM system.

Has something to do with the parking mechanism. Is it possibly your E-brake wasn't off all the way? If there is a way to make your car believe your e-brake is in place it should work every time shouldnt it?

Your GPS antenna cable into the headunit may be slightly loose.
Have you also notice your Nav freezing up?
That's how the VIM modules work. They by-pass the GPS antenna into the module rather than directly into the headunit. So when you press the secret code, the GPS input is switched off. The headunit then thinks you are stationary and allows video to play.
