Unhappy Ipod connected to Benz through aux cable. Why so quiet?

I have a new itouch connected to my benz and its volume is cranked but I cant get the stereo anywhere close to as loud as it is with the radio or cd player working. Anyone else experience this problem??? Anythig I can do to fix it?

I think, from reading other posts, there really isn't an amp to drive the aux input and that is why there is very little volume. Unfortunately, you might have to opt for an ipod integration kit to get better sound or get an external amp.

make sure you haven't limited
the sound output on your ipod.
(the factory setting is 75pct or so.)

UPDATE: it's in: settings / Volume limit

Do you have MM? I have the iPod kit and don't really use it much. I burned mp3's onto DVD's and can fit a ton on them...and you can see the names on the actual screen, instead of having to look at that little display on your dash.

You have to turn the ipod volume up all the way.

If you go for the IPOD kit....they have 2 available one with and one without an auxiliary amp.....It is about 40.00 more in canada for the one with the amp....that is the one I will get.....soon.

Search here on the forums is your friend....

I had this problem and called the dealer about it. They had no idea what to do. Actually, though, MB part number A204 870 39 94 (that lists for 10 CENTS!) is available and they will install it for you under warranty for free. This part number is an inline amplifier for the ipod cable and works inline. It will not, however, amplify the line-in AUX input if you choose to use that one as well as the ipod. It must just fit inline with the ipod cable, not further on down the AUX input.

Really. 10 CENTS. Not kidding.

Good luck!

This is the crappiest feature in my car. My friends Honda Fit has an aux input that sounds ten times better, I still have not found a solution that isn't an inline amplifier from eBay or something...I think it's ridiculous, I love my car but something like this is dumb.
