Front Seats arent Nearly as Comfortable As I Thought
iono...i didnt notice this on my test drive. but something its bothering me on the sport seats in my 2009 C350. just under the headrest/neck area, there seems to be a bulge that is hitting the in between my shoulders. its very uncomfortable on long drives. anybody else notice this? i know this is not an element of the sport seats because my IS300 hasnt got this issue. its not an adjustable option either.
p.s. i have not talking about the lumbar support. this bulge is above the lumbar

X3 and 2012 C coming soon
I don't know if this will help or not. My problem was that the seats are very grippy making it difficult to easily find a comfortable seating postition. Try conditioning them with Lexol. It makes them a bit slippery and easier to adjust your back and rear. I know it sounds strange, but it really helped.

yes, its with both seats. but i need to make sure. i rarely sit in the passenger side.
its hard to explain. im about 6' and it seems like its not really fitting me. iono...
if i sag down in the seats, then that cushion part hits my back neck

Raise the lumbar support lever to the full up position. Then adjust the tilt of the seat back. This won't cure it, but can make it tolerable.
Personally, with all the mods on these forums, I wish someone would come up with something that would make these seats truely comfortable. I'd spend on that.

from what ive heard........
i heard that these seats were more comfortable than the previous C-Class Makes me wonder what the older model had for seats, im guessing that the previous C were made of concrete, did anyone have the older model and can give us a little comparison?

The 220 CDI seats are firm but comfortable & supportive.. There is no issue at all after a long day in the car.

I had to get used to the seats. They were pretty bad as first.
I kinda have to sit straight if I slouch they start to hurt a little.
I dunno, not a big deal now like I said I got used to them now I don't even think about it.

I don't think I would ever purchase a vehicle that had uncomfortable seats in the first place. I walked away from a great deal on a A4 a few years back because the seats just didn't work for me even when the auto magazines loved them.

Seat comparo
And when I first sat in my '08 C300 I thought the seats were not so good but finally after adjusting the lumbar support to about halfway, I got used to it. But I am still making little adjustments almost daily after a year of ownership.
BTW, all three of these cars had leather seats.
You will get used to it, eventually.

I find the seats comfortable but at 6'2" too small - like usual. The best solution is to spring for Recaros and match seat finish to either OE or Recaro.
It's a few thousand but worth every penny ad you can keep the seats when you change cars, just get new mounts.

Likewise, the M-tex is luxuriously soft to the touch & the overall feeling of firmness gives complete support for very long trips. I am 6' ( 183cm) & 80 kg. Maybe its a weight thing why some people are not comfortable ie large posteriors

I just found this thread, mostly because I find the SEATS in the new C300 to be NOT as comfortable as those in the W203. Indeed, I had the drivers custom seat, with that crazy pneumatic seat pump thing, but I mostly just did lumbar and thigh support.
I find the W204 seats, that the BOTTOM of the seat doesn't reach out far enough and my legs don't feel supported.
6'5" doesn't help, but I would LOVE some sort of extension.
