new wheels, keep same tire pressure?

I 19" wheels that are bigger & wider than the factory wheels. Should i keep the tire pressure the same as the factory recommends? seems like I should change them?

Normally the tires should tell you what the psi limits are on their sides. Depends more upon the tires' performance ratings than the size.

The max allowable pressure is never the factory recommended running pressure.

Best to keep an eye on the wear in the centre of a wider than normal tyre if you increase the pressure beyond the recommended.

normally you have the pressure in the sides of the wheels, or you have a plate in the refuelling site, but in my case i have 17´wheels and the pressure plate only shows for 15´

i recommend you see the sides of the wheel and put the pressure that they tell you

I still have difficulties to believe this myself but all tyre shops these days claim that the above is old school and does not hold for modern tyres. They say that too low tyre pressure makes the centre of the tyre wear out. I guess an extreme over pressure could still do it too but wear at the centre would not automatically mean too high pressure.

I have not followed the tyre section and how they feel about the "new rule".

Simple Physics is an old rule
A good website explaining tyre pressures & wear patterns :-
