Where the crap is the ILLUMINATE DOOR SILLS DIY???
All these threads, and it is VERY suprising nobody here has even installed the illuminated door sills on a w204...
Anybldy out there that did but just didn't post about it?
Been waiting for a DIY for months...
I know the guy that did the OEM c300/350 quad tips (non amg tip) DIY said he was going to do a door sill DIY and had already bought the parts... but that was the last i heard and it was months ago...
Anybody with any updates on sills or sill plans?

dont mean to be demanding at all...
but i just really want those door sills on that I ordered ... I was about to take it to the dealer, but they quoted 400 labor!!!
would like to try myself, but knowing me, I will break a plastic tab or something during removal and end up costing myself more $$$ anyway...
patiently waiting in the mean time...

Yeah it’s me that has the door sills and have not installed them yet.
Sorry, but I just had my first child born 4 weeks ago and am getting used to NO SLEEP!
I have several projects to finish on my car with the parts just sitting in the garage (Door Sills, Fog Light HID, Roof Spoiler, LED light replacements, Etc…). So, trying to find time between feedings, work & home is far and few.
Here's a picture
I looked at the project and looks like a 4 hour install (which is inline with your quote of $100/hour labor x 4 hours = $400). Mid City says they do it in about 2.5 hours (they’ve done a few). The install looks relatively straight forward but time consuming because of all the paneling that has to be removed & replaced, Control unit install, and other small stuff.
I will make another DIY for that and the Fog light HID’s….. Soon but no promises.
Let me know if I can help? I have the factory ‘destructions’.

Would you be able to provide the instructions? I have been looking at the wiring in the doors but have a diffcult time determining the colors for each door.
Perhaps with the instructions from MB I can get it done

From Startekinfo you can download a WIS retrofit guide for this.

formymercedesdotcom has the aftermarket doorsills (set of 4 + 2 aluminum) which don't come with the original hardware shown in VaderSS pictures. So I was going to tap the wiring to each of the red door lights.

The original lights do not have 12V bulbs and cannot be run directly from the red door light wiring. The OEM sills have a voltage switcher for some kind of fluorescent lights (I cannot remember the exact type).

WTF: I can't get the PDF's to open. I had asked Vader about his instructions, but he had an family emergency and couldn't get them to me so I had Mid City install them for me ($200) when I had some other work done. I found it funny that when I bought the OEM kit from the dealership for $700, there were no instructions in with the kit, but the stupid headrest coat hanger I bought at the same time that simply snaps onto the headrest posts came with a full sheet of how to install it. BTW, the sills look awesome - If you are on the fence about getting these, do it. Even the old lady stopped rolling her eyes about it and shows them to people checking out the car...

Sounds nice, do you have some night time pics of the sills?

agreed. the illuminated sills do add a nice (and very) subtle touch.
what's unfortunate is that the stock/oem illum sills only gets installed for the front doors..
