CEL on a new car
I took delivery of a new 09 C300 couple of days back and it has approximately 200 miles on it now. This morning when i tried to start it didn't start on the first try, but then started up after some hesitation on the second one. I have check engine light on now which is a big turn off for me.
I'm planning to call the dealer, but was wondering if anyone had similar experience or know what it could possibly be?

I kinda know the feeling, although I at least had mine a few weeks instead of a couple days. I kinda makes you wonder if you made a mistake. Mine turned out to be nothing and I am loving the car three months on.
Best of Luck and hopefully it is indeed something simple.

The CEL went off after couple of starts during the day today.
Do you think it is a good idea to get it checked out by the dealer anyways? I think it may be a waste since they wouldn't be able to tell what went wrong without the CEL being on. Let me know your thoughts.

I took the car in and it turned out that the crankshift sensor needs to be replaced.
I'm very disappointed, especially about the fact that it happened so soon.
Anyone knows if this is an easy replacement or will they need to take out a few things from the engine to get to it?

The CEL on my car was going on and off intermittently. This happened about 4 times over a period of about 3 months. I had the problem fixed when I took the car in for its 20,000 km. service.
The work order reads:-
"20001 Electrical short to Camshaft Adjuster, SDS tested and checked for codes, Note codes 0060 and 0061 for R/F Exhaust and Intake Cam Adjusters, Checked actual values, Electrical tested for 6.5 volts return voltage from Adjuster to ME Control Unit, Replaced both R/S Cam Adjusters"
I am not sure exactly what the above means but the engine light has remained off. The engine also seems to be running a lot smoother.
