1. Power steering wheel adjuster with auto retract/lower feature.
2. Three position memory for drivers's seat, outside mirrors and steering wheel adjuster settings.
3. Subtle change to grey portion of Grey/Black interior.
4. Tan interior as used in Luxury model now available in Sport Model.
5. Burl Walnut wood trim available in 300 Sport, NC option in 350 Sport.
6. All season tires available with 18" AMG wheels in lieu of summer performance tires.
7. Noise, vibration, harshness improvements (quieter).
8. 2 GB increase in hard disk space allocated for music ripping in MM package.
9. Refined auto transmission responsiveness (less lag demand down-shift).
10. Added red LED compass display to inside rear view mirror.

The much quieter interior was really noticed during my European Delivery trip when crusing sections of the Autobahn at 110 MPH.

A pity the European Delivery does not include 155 mph speed limiter, at least for the duration of the stay in Europe. Perhaps you would not want to try it anyway with a new engine.

Is there a new Instrument cluster on the car? Does someone have a Pic of it? Also, I dunno if it's me but I couldn't tell a difference with the new mirrors?

One of the things that left me hugely unimpressed with the W204 when I had one as a loaner for a couple weeks was the harshness, and wind/interior noise, pretty un-M-B-like IMO. Good to know they've addressed it.

Also, did make any changes to the interior besides the option of Burl Walnut trim?

I'm curious as to what they did with the 7G Tranny too, I dunno if my E shares the exact same one, but it seems some refinement with jolting here and there was certainly due.

W204
Just collected my C350 yesterday. The only disappointment I have is the high cabin noise. Could it be the CSC3? My previous ride was a BMW E60.

Does anyone have comparison Pics of each mirrors out of curiosity?

I always really disliked the huge clunky mirrors with the big blinker slab on the W204, just look like it has big floppy ears IMO, like a disproportioned child . Just curious to see if Benz perhaps ended up thinking the same and changed them after just the first year for that reason?

I saw some Pics of the guages and like the new display alot better, adds some flare to the interior, good move by M-B IMO.

This is the new side mirror. Mine is a Sept production.

08 mirrors are way too big for this car and generates greater wind noise.

The new mirror is smaller and originally designed for the blue efficiency models, make much more sense.

don't ask me why North America models don't get these...

they look much better than our dumbo ear mirrors in my opinion.

I keep hearing this claim but is that a confirm fact?

could it be because its new? have you driven the 08 at 110mph?

don't mean to be skeptic but MB has claimed they did years of research and computer modeling before going into production for the w204....

I have a June build 09 model and it has hooded gauge but I don't think its particularly quiet. Coming from E60 5 Series, this W204 is much more noiser.

In my case the car is a US Spec C350 with 17" AMG 6 spoke wheels and all-season Michelin Pilot Hx tires. As these tires are just H rated (130 MPH) I doubt MB would allow the higher speed setting.

Interestingly, the ECU did come programmed to temporarily run on low-octane (85-87)unleaded; something about unreliable supply of 91+ unleaded in eastern Europe. When the vehicle arrives in the US the MB vehicle delivery center refuels the car, reprograms the ECU and verifies emissions and no damage to the catalytic converters.

It's an Option by Request...

It is a no cost option now available by explicit request only, the default summer performance tires. Howver, I haven't heard of anybody actually get this option.

No, I have only driver an 08 twice (dealer test drives) at low-moderate speeds. And I thought it was quiet enough that I had no qualms about ordering an 09 C350 for European delivery. When I picked up the car I asked the delivery technician to walk me through as many of the changes between 08 and 09s as he could recall. The NVH thing was about the third item he described and cited it was part of ongoing NVH improvements and partially in response to owner critiques.

I was pleasantly surprised that it was significantly quieter and more composed than I could recall from my test rides.

Ahh, yeah IMO that is a bit nicer and less obtrusive to the look. I saw that blinker light design on the SL and thought it looks pretty good yet at the same time is kind of an odd and random shape.

So the US doesn't get the new mirrors?

Next time I go in for service I'm gonna request an MY09 C for a Loaner, as I'm curious about the wind/road noise/harshness, the MY08 surprised me with how much it had.

I just got a 09 C350 a couple weeks ago, and it has the big mirrors. Do you folks know when will MBUSA start using the new mirrors?

Regards,

I got my 09 C350 in Sept, it has the "big" mirrors and is very noisy, extremely loud. If the 09 is quieter I wouldn't be able to drive an 08. Is my car basically a late year "08" model mercedes calls an "09"? Is there anything I can do to get mercedes to make this car quieter????
