Differences between 2008 and 2009 models ????
2. Three position memory for drivers's seat, outside mirrors and steering wheel adjuster settings.
3. Subtle change to grey portion of Grey/Black interior.
4. Tan interior as used in Luxury model now available in Sport Model.
5. Burl Walnut wood trim available in 300 Sport, NC option in 350 Sport.
6. All season tires available with 18" AMG wheels in lieu of summer performance tires.
7. Noise, vibration, harshness improvements (quieter).
8. 2 GB increase in hard disk space allocated for music ripping in MM package.
9. Refined auto transmission responsiveness (less lag demand down-shift).
10. Added red LED compass display to inside rear view mirror.
The much quieter interior was really noticed during my European Delivery trip when crusing sections of the Autobahn at 110 MPH.

One of the things that left me hugely unimpressed with the W204 when I had one as a loaner for a couple weeks was the harshness, and wind/interior noise, pretty un-M-B-like IMO. Good to know they've addressed it.
Also, did make any changes to the interior besides the option of Burl Walnut trim?
I'm curious as to what they did with the 7G Tranny too, I dunno if my E shares the exact same one, but it seems some refinement with jolting here and there was certainly due.

I always really disliked the huge clunky mirrors with the big blinker slab on the W204, just look like it has big floppy ears IMO, like a disproportioned child
. Just curious to see if Benz perhaps ended up thinking the same and changed them after just the first year for that reason?
I saw some Pics of the guages and like the new display alot better, adds some flare to the interior, good move by M-B IMO.

The new mirror is smaller and originally designed for the blue efficiency models, make much more sense.
don't ask me why North America models don't get these...
they look much better than our dumbo ear mirrors in my opinion.
could it be because its new? have you driven the 08 at 110mph?
don't mean to be skeptic but MB has claimed they did years of research and computer modeling before going into production for the w204....
Interestingly, the ECU did come programmed to temporarily run on low-octane (85-87)unleaded; something about unreliable supply of 91+ unleaded in eastern Europe. When the vehicle arrives in the US the MB vehicle delivery center refuels the car, reprograms the ECU and verifies emissions and no damage to the catalytic converters.
I was pleasantly surprised that it was significantly quieter and more composed than I could recall from my test rides.
So the US doesn't get the new mirrors?
Next time I go in for service I'm gonna request an MY09 C for a Loaner, as I'm curious about the wind/road noise/harshness, the MY08 surprised me with how much it had.
