i want to race a C350

MB rates the c350 at 6.1 seconds 0 - 60 and rates my clk350 at 6.4 seconds

both have exactly the same engine and transmission and axle

i wonder if the intake and exhaust between the 2 models are the same

i know the c350 has a dual exhaust and my clk350 has a single, but it could still be the same setup

one is "dual" and one is "single"... obviously not the same. however they can and probably tuned to similar spec.

I believe all the M272 engines have a "true" dual exhaust system, its just the CLK350 doesnt have dual tips. Inside the single chrome tip theres two exhaust "pipes" crammed in there.

dual exhaust means TWO mufflers.

I thought it meant two exhaust pipes were coming from the engine Right? As opposed to a single exhaust from the engine? I dont know.

negative. single exhaust = 1 muffler, dual exhaust = 2 muffler. you are thinking about single tips, dual tips, or quad tips and so on. I think you got confused because on the brochure they would usually say "dual exhaust tips" or "single exhaust tips" etc.

all V configuration engines have exhaust pipes running down both side. with single exhaust setup like the W203 and W209 (not including the C55, CLK55/63) the exhaust pipes merge into a Y-pipe before the resonator and muffler.

for W204 the exhaust runs along side each other going into the resonator and then to each muffler. they're called dual exhaust.

Ohhh okay. That makes sense now. I was confused because I had an '05 Volvo S40 T5 before the C, and it had a single exhaust from the engine (one muffler, but two tips) but now I realize that was because it was an Inline-5 configuration, not V. Thanks for the info.
