Good to know, my wife's W204 is making the same noise but it's intermittent, does it maybe four or five time a month so I don't know if MB will fix it if it's not making the noise when I bring it in? Our car is an early build W204 and has 22K miles on it.

As soon as it happens you should take a video of it with your digital camera. Because as soon as you take it in to get worked on it won't make any noise. At least that's my luck! But with the video I emailed to my service advisor he showed it to the service guy that was working on my car. It's one of the reasons why I always carry my digital camera and my Flip camera in my glove box.

The US guarantee is certainly of different order from that in Europe but it should now be 2 years minimum in all EU countries. It used to be only one year for several EU countries before the new regulations. I believe the UK has better coverage even if being an EU member, the 2 years is just the minimum.
