VELOCE PERFORMANCE SAYS 30 HP INCREASE ON C350, IS THIS POSSIBLE??
VELOCE PERFORMANCE SAY'S IT CAN GET YOU 30HP INCREASE FROM A ECU OR COMPUTER FLASH FOR $1100, YOU NEED TO REMOVE THE COMPUTER AND SEND IT OUT TO THEM FOR A FEW DAYS. DOES ANYONE KNOW IF THIS IS TRUE OR BS? ANYONE OUT THERE THAT HAS HAD THIS DONE? THIS SOUNDS LIKE ALOT OF HP INCREASE.....

Seriously, all caps make it a lot harder to read so lose the caps. As far as the ECU potential, it sounds like a resonable gain for a hot ECU. Do a search as there is at least one other reputable vendor offering similar performance for less $$.

Actually, if you look back at the thread, all I did was ask the OP to turn off his caps lock.
After I was told to get a life, you decided to chime in and tell me that you'd put me in time out. Which, as far as I can tell, isn't possible since you're not a mod, or admin. Lol.

yes, it's possible to get 20-25 "crank" HP from the 3.5 M272 motor. 30 sounds a little exaggerated. For 30hp total you probably need to modify the intake and exhaust as well.

I meant get a life in the nicest way, of course. Notice the cap lock...you've changed me, now you can go bother someone else on the forums for spelling or something.

It's ok, when you've been around here as long as me (and I actually read this forum years before I registered), you'll get sick of all the clowns and goons that come here and ask dumb questions.

30 HP is not true for ECU, the company RENNTECH the can add 12 hp with reflashing the ECU, you can do in Mercedes Benz dealer with the factory warranty. the price is $1295. The 350 engine has 300 hp in the new CLK 350 2009 (I saw in Car and Driver) the change the intake and increase the compression. For a lot of HP use NITRO(N2) It is save and you can use only when you need.

Hi
I happened across this thread and thought I would give a little insight.
With normally aspirated engines on pump gas, we are usually able to extract an 8-10% hp/tq increase. The only other addition that we recommend is adding a K&N or similar filter, in order to give the engine a little more air.
Additionally, our tuning is not just about the raw numbers, I personally test most of our set ups to give improved driving experience. What that means is we improve throttle response, broaden the tq band so as to deliver it more throughout the rev range (more mid range punch), which is where you need it. Plus we remove those pesky speed limiters!![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
PM me or email with any other questions. Thanks.

I personally would ask any tuner for dynoes of before and after results as well as references of other customers before paying any money.
Make sure it is from the SAME dyno also on the before and after.
Make sure to utilitize the search tool on this website to look up posts concerning the tuner you are interested in (Veloce, VRP, Evosport, Renntech, Kleeman, LET, etc).

Just thought I'd throw this out there, but there's another ECU group buy going on for Singh Autosport (http://www.singhautosport.com/). $500 for 204s. The good thing about this ECU tune vs others is they don't need to remove the ECU unit. It's accessed through the OBD2 port. This is supposed to make it undetectable, therefore not voiding warranty. They also have 2 free reflashes if dealerships overwrite the ECU.

X3 and 2012 C coming soon
That's how my VW was done with the APR program. They claim it couldn't be overwritten and to date, it hasn't been.
Can Singh Autosport prove that the dealership can't detect it when they scan the car via the diagnostic OBDII port?

I don't know how they can go about proving it and even then, you'd probably have to take it up with them. However, cursory google search shows that several BMW owners reported no detection.
