V6 engine conversion

Ran into a page mentioning a Brabus tune of the W204 where they rebuild the stock 3L/3.5L engines using a larger crankshaft/larger cylinders and pistons to increase the displacement to 4L. Link to the Brabus site:
http://brabus.com/en/cars4sale.php?id=5929

and auto-review site:

Anyone had this done yet? High compression ratios have almost entirely ruled out the possibility of forced induction - rebuilding with a larger bore/stroke seems to be the only path forward. 330hp/420Nm is exactly where I want to be at performance wise - what say yous?

I saw that in the Brabus catalog. The problem, IIRC, is that it basically doubles the price of the car. I paid $45K USD and I think the conversion was over $30K. For that kind of cash one would be WAY better off buying a C63...

Just my 2c.

I looked into it about a year ago. I have to agree with Krytech. The price is too high to justify.

Agreed the price difference for you guys would definately play a part in the decision not to have the mods done. I've mentioned before though that here in the middle east the C63 retails at over $100,000 and a $30,000 mod to a $40,000 car still makes it a considerable amount cheaper than a C63.

I talked to the Brabus reps here and they said they would have to ship the engine to Germany to get the work done in either case - considering the rate at which work gets done here I'm looking at 2 months of downtime I'd say, not worth it it in the least. Can get a used US spec E55/63 in the region of $30k, the money is definately best spent elsewhere agreed.
