6 Months Free Sirius Satellite

Up here in Canada we get 6 months of Sirius free, but it is not Sirius with XM channels included (which costs more per month). I wish it had both, I wonder if I can call and add them somehow even though I am still in my 6 month free trial.

Opinions really do vary on this subject. I've had my C350 for 6 months and today just paid for my first subscription renewal for Sirius Satellite radio. I rarely listen to anything else in the car. I love the variety of the music on the rock channels and find myself listening to CNBC daily.
I like how it fades out and iI agree, satellite coverage can be sh-t sometimes, driving under overpasses, in parking garages, or tunnels... but doesn't really bother me much because the quality of sound is what wins me over...CRISP/CLEAR!
They do play the same songs over and over again, but the quality of sound is 10xs better than AM/FM radio... I feel like when I listen to AM/FM there is a muffler in my ear... and I get sick of listening to the commercials anyhow...
I also have the iPod integration kit... and it seriously sucks. Imagine you have to put the volume high up just to hear it at a normal level with no bass... equalizer SUCKS--when I switch to satellite/CD it is blarring in my ear nearly damaging my tympanic membranes (ear drums)....! also it makes it very loud when the phone rings... so yes Sirius > iPod
If downloading music is your thing, I'd suggest burning an MP3 CD and record it to your music register.... better quality of sound! ugh, the iPod integration kit just blowsssssssss... save your iPod for the gym and get Sirius.
Sirius lets you pick and choose stations with a special package, but it is more expensive i think, so i stick to the basic subscription... $12.95/mon... not bad...

I just got a card from Sirius saying that my trial was about to finish (actually, got it weeks after it was over according to that card). That date was exactly 6 months after my purchase.
That stupid dealer didn't service my car even if he had it for 7 months in his lot and didn't even activate the radio. Never again.

I got my car with a few thousand miles on it, I activated Sirius and they told me I had 6 months even though the car had been on the road almost a year at the dealership. i thought about going to the Sirius/HD radio module, but sofar I have not moved as I want to get the module cheap instead of for ~$800 bucks.

i am pissed, after reading this thread. i called Sirus and found out that my free 6 months is EXPIRED. I did not even activate it and listen to it once!!!! over the 6 months I have my car, I did try to get on the Sirus radio, but always got a message saying I need to activate it. I was lazy so I thought I would just activate it one day when I get sick of listening to regular radio.
What I don't understand is why didn't Mercedes dealer tell us that the free trial starts the day you purchase the car?? And why don't they just activate it for us? The reason I thought my my sales asked me "do you want me to activate it or you want to activate it later on your own" is that I have the 6 months anytime, starting the date of the activation. That's just Fxxxxx stupid!!! I am not happy.

Well theres a simple reason for that, its because they need a credit card from you in case u go over ur 6 months and dont cancel it, its also so they can create an account for u, and i dont mean to be a downer but the 800 number for sirus is in the cars memory so u could of easily called from ur car and found out, what it really sounds like is that u either forgot or were too lazy to find out about it and u cant really blame anyone about this but urself, i mean in your manuel/booklet theres a flyer about sirus raido with the 800 number there too so all u had to do was call, yes maybe the guy who sold it to u should of said something but u should of taken it upon urself to do a little investigating urself.

My 6 month subscription started after I activated it. I got the full term they promised and activated it about 2 months after owning the car. I've had my car for a year now and seriously, Sirius is the best thing to listen to in the car.

I posted this before, but just as a reminder, if you like Sirius, the lifetime membership is $399. Do the math and see how well this works out by the 4th year or beyond...if you plan to hold the car a while.
I also got the full 6 months on both cars I bought last year.

ours was six months from activation, not purchase. And, I just called last week and added a YEAR for 77$. Took two calls, but it worked out, AND I got the online sub for free, which I HOPE will enable my iphone app too.

I bought my car in Oct, and just activated last week. I only have 3 months remaining.
Is it just me, or is XM way better than Sirius. My mom has XM in her Acura, and I like the stations a lot more than the Sirius. Plus, there is always a delay when changing stations, is that normal?
