Stong Gas Smell From Exhaust
I noticed that in past the month, when I start the car, the exhaust has a very strong gas odor. I am not sure if it has to do with the cold weather in NY. The odor seems to go away when the car is warmed up. I also noticed that my gas milage has dropped about 2 mpg compare to 2 months ago when the morning temperature is above 32 degrees. Does anyone else have this problem?

When the engine is cold, the car is in open loop, which is richer than when the car is warm (closed loop). Since it takes significantly longer to warm up, your gas mileage will suffer.
Unless the smell is really really strong, I wouldn't worry about it. If it is, you may have a bad catalytic converter.
