Flat hood badge

Does anyone know how to take it off? I looked underneath and it seems to be two spring loaded arms. The opening is to small for my fingers to get in, I was thinking of using a pair of needle nose pliers but thought I would ask here first maybe someone knows a better way.

Thanks I forgot all about that sticky. I see it everyday and just ignored it when I needed it.

Hey Ron, it looks like you are about to "graduate" to a fanatic. Maybe your 1000th will be a DIY on hood ornaments??

It's very easy. I took mine off when I got the clear bra installed. You just pinch those triggers (arms) and it pops right out. Keep a hold of it so it doesn't slide across the hood. To return it, you just pop it back in.

Thanks Derspeed. Thats what I figured I plan on using locking needle nose to pinch the triggers then release once I have it pressed forward.

I've seen some CF ones recently on Ebay. They have the silver around the star CF but the outer band is still blue with mecedes writing. I've also seen just a Star with Black I think which could easily be CF.

If anyone knows of or has seen or has installed a black and white flat hood badge, please PM me. I'll buy it immediately, pretty much at any price. I'm willing to pay someone to make a custom hood badge if necessary.

I've been looking for one since before I bought the car, and no luck so far. A coupla pokes at different shops for custom badge didn't really work out either.

I am not interested in a part B&W (any blue or silver still showing) badge. The design, lettering, and all that is fine--just want 'em in B&W.

Anyone?

Yeah, I've seen some AMG B&W badges that look all right, but I'd rather have a MBZ B&W...

Hello Narky, Are you now happy with the way your car tracks? You had an accident & complained that it was not steering straight.

Thanks for asking. Still no good, believe it or not. The car is still pulling a bit to the right (steering wheel turned left). Gotta find a good alignment shop around here, and then I gotta find the time to take it there!

end
