Checking Transmission Fluid

Only the dealer can check
My dealer service center told me that it was something only they could check via a "hidden" dipstick! I'm not game enough to dismantle the engine just to find it

Thats what Citroen said & their C5 transmissions had a disturbing failure rate.
The CDI 220 5 speed transmission does not have any servicing time /km mentioned in the service book but my trusted & practical service manager suggested to change my fluid every 60,000 km, which I will do.
If your MB service manager would give you the length of their dipstick you could make your own from woven wire or flexibe plastic.

the new transmissions can only be checked by measuring the time it takes fluid to exit the pan ... after adding fluid with a special machine they remove the tool and watch how fast the fluid comes out ... after awhile the fluid will get to a point where they put the cap in the pan .. also sds can measure the amount of fluid in the transmission
