My wifes side mirror glass was broken by a snowball and needs to be replaced. I have all the tools to do this and purchased the glass, is there a step by step section for me to tackle this myself? Any help would be appreciated as always.

Just an FYI, I didn't recieve any replies so I thought I would check it out myself. As it turns out its much easier than my W211. I tilted the mirror so it was pointed at the ground and with a little hook tool was able to gently lift one of the little plastic finger clips that hold the glass to the motor assembly. Continuing to gently pull with my fingers I went to the next finger clip and lifted it over the assmbly as well. I did this all the way around until the glass was free. After that I unplugged the heater wires and reconnected them to the new glass piece. After this the glass simply snaps back in place by gently pushing it on, thats all there was to it.

dumb question. my 08 350 has tinted or darkening glass on the drivers side mirror and my passenger door does not. A I the only one? I had the mirror replaced before and was wondering if I got screwed. Thanks in advance.

It's normal. It will also return to original (no tint ) mode in reverse.
