Need advice choosing springs.

I have a c300 Sport. I'm currently running:

F- 20 x 8.5" ET42 w/ 225/35-20 Tires
R- 20 x 10" ET54 w/ 255/30-20 Tires

Eibach is the safest bet. Should I even consider H&R?

There are a few threads on here discussing which springs are best for what type of ride experience you are looking for. A search will reveal what has already been discussed.

Here is one for starters.

Good luck!

When you say "safest bet," what exactly do you mean? Are you concerned about ride quality or tires rubbing your inner fender lip? If your tires are the correct size, rubbing should never be an issue. Low-profile tires, if uncomfortable, will be just as uncomfortable no matter which springs you choose.

Not worried about ride. Just rubbing.

C3nthusiast. You're running 20x10s out back? I want to run 19x10 rears but every rim shop in Chicago, including Rennology (outstanding btw), is telling me that 19x9.5 is my limit, rolling fenders or not. Please let me know the manufacturer of your rims (promise not to copy) so that i can contact them to find out how they accomplished 20x10s out back. I REALLY want 19x10s in the rear. 20s on a C350 would get murdered on the streets of Chicago. Would be nice tho. Thanks in advance.

If your tires poke out beyond the fender or touch the inner lip, at some point they will rub no matter which springs you choose; if they compress far enough.

Thank you for the reply. Did you have to roll your rear fenders, and if so what does fender rolling normally cost? Thanks again.

10 is a really aggressive width and will probably rub as it'll stick out a bit. Rolling fenders can help, but yeah, I dunno. Getting some tires with rounded sidewalls will help a bit. 9.5 should be max imo, especially in 20s and dropped. You have to consider the damage you'll be doing to your fenders and the tire with constant rubbing.

Thanks Azn. That's exactly why I'm going with the 19" setup. Don't want to take any chances. I have a question tho; I'm not familiar with "tire stretching"? to reduce the potential for rubbing on lowered vehicles. As you are obviously one of the site's gurus (flattery will get me everywhere ), Could you (or someone) please explain this to me? Thank you.

hardly a guru compared to several others on this site. Basically with tire stretching, you're doing exactly that, stretching the tire so that your sidewalls achieve an even more rounded effect.

As you can see, this allows you to tuck your tires behind the fender while still maintaining a flush look with your wheels. Every mm counts when trying to avoid rubbing and this gives you a bit more to help prevent your tires from rubbing against your fenders.

Some just like the look of stretched tires and do it for purely cosmetics.

Thanx for the explanation Azn. Though I fully understand now, I'm not quite sure I like the look. Always been a fan of a lil' sidewall to shine. Sticking w/ 19"s will give me wiggle room to go either way I suppose. Thanks again.
