my goodness... i hit a blunt last night and was driving home... i look at my dash... and i see this...
now i'm used to the temperature needle being around 50% and i tripped out parked up the car opened the hood and was feeling for..i dunno... excessive heat or something... everything seemed ok...
i was tripping out the whole drive home...

its probably normal. depending on the temperature of the rain. Well it's 3 degrees outside...and since I'm very near where you live, I'm getting the same rain
So, with 3 degree rain, I'm pretty sure its normal. It's happened to all the cars I've had.
Also, the needle isn't in the red zone, so no big deal anyway, right?
I love driving in the rain, at night, for some reason. /random comment

yea that's the correct temp... don't worry the car's temp won't be off by too much unless you are literally holding the car at redline for like 10 min or more which is like impossible... they tested this car and it ran for 30,000 miles on redline before it broke down. THAT IS AMAZING!!! you never have to worry about temperature problems with this car(unless something isn't working properly)

Yup. 90C control point for thermosat is very typical.
Mercedes provides a linear temperature that gives real coolant temps. Many cars have unmarked tick points, unevenly spaced on gauge. These are modifed gauges, that will show the same nice 50% reading to make you feel good, but over a wide temperature range of about 140F to 240F.
