Mercedes Bluetooth and Blackberry

To those of you who have the normal COMMAND system (not Nav) and blackberries. After the initial setup (first time paring the phone with MB bluetooth) lets say the next time you use your car does your blackberry (given that bluetooth in on) connects to the MB system automatically or it asks for permission before connecting??

thanks in advance

Same here w/ BB 8100

I have tried everything with my BB 8100 and it WILL NOT transfer over the phonebook. I am actually thinking of getting a different phone for that reason. Have had this BB for over a year and am now able to upgrade without penalty. Anyone know is the BB 8800 or the Palm Centro sync up properly, phonebook and all?

For some reason, you can't sync the address book. Period. It's not supported by any BB. I've had a Pearl, Curve, 8800, and Bold. None work.

I have a Blackberry 8800 and it works fine. Here's how to transfer the address book from the Blackberry to the COMMAND system.

The following instructions are to be done on the Blackberry, when it is connected to the COMMAND system:-
(1) Click on the Set Up Bluetooth icon.
(2) Select MB Bluetooth
(3) Select Transfer Address Book.

The phone numbers are then transferred from the Blackberry to the car system.

To update the phone numbers in the future, first delete the data base on the COMMAND system, and then reload the phone numbers using the 3 steps outlined above.

you can fix that option were you can connect automatically or manually. Go to options>Bluetooth>Click the device name EX:MB Phonesystem> BB Menu key> Device properties>Trusted> you can chose Yes or No.

Earlybird is correct though... I can send my contacts with my BB and it's easy. The Nokia S40 on the other hand...

I've tried this before and tried it again just now - Still doesn't work. Although, MB's should work relatively the same, no? I don't have a 204.

On a slightly different topic. If you want to play your music from blackberry to the cars bluetooth, it can be done.

I purchased a blackberry gateway and plugged it into the aux input jack in the glove box. Pair it up and you are ready to play your MP3 files To change the tracks etc you just use the track ball.

You might get an error of "object push server" while sending contacts from the above mentioned procedure. The only thing you have to do is to disconnect your phone(hands free service) and then send the contacts. You must connect back the hands free service after you finished sending the contacts.

There is another way to enable push server mode and that is by going to blue tooth Options. From update list of services, change hands free unit to object push. Transfer your contacts and revert the object push to hands free unit.

Hope it helps.

Nice, how long would it take between battery charges on this unit.

A car charger will cost you $5 and you have a 12V supply in your glovebox. Ideal!

You should be able to get a full day of use with your blackberry. Keep in mind that i only listen to the mp3 function on my way to and from work (20 min each way). but I use the blackberry heavily.

Does anyone knows how to stop the blackberry from ringing when there is an incoming call, and only let the MB command ring to inform you??
