Springs installed at dealer? Quoted me $770+
The headers seemed fair at $600.
The springs have me scratching my head. They want $625, $450 for the front pair and $175 for the rears. Does that seem right? I've heard of others getting them installed for as little as $200 at non-dealer shops. For warranty and peace of mind I was planning on having them installed at the dealer, but now I'm reconsidering.
They quoted $145 for a 4 wheel alignment for a sub total of $770 before shop fees/taxes.
My two questions are,
1. Anyone have their springs installed at the dealer and if so how much did it cost?
2. Why is the front so much more? I guessing more complicated suspension?
Disclaimer: I searched through a bunch of threads before posting this and wasn't able to find much regarding dealer installs.
and install $170 CDN for the labour
so $400 CDN out the door... I am scheduling an alignment for next week.

It continues to surprise me how many people here in the board install new springs/coilovers/etc... and not get an alignment?!?!?!?!?!

I heard back from some other shops here in my area, couple of them don't want to do it
and the ones that would were asking over $800 so the dealer seems right in line.I think I will re-asses my decision. I was thinking I could do springs for around $5-600 for parts and labor. Paying ~$800 to install a $250 part is giving my pause. Maybe I should look at coilovers since if I don't like the ride height with all our potholes here I could adjust it later. Or raise it in the winter and lower it in the summer?

I've only seen the H&R coilovers at Tire Rack so I'm not sure what else is out there, but these ones say the avg lowering height is 1.0-2.5", so does that mean that you can't install them and keep the ride height closer to stock? Sorry for my n00b question...
FYI, I'm only thinking about doing this to improve cornering especially on bumpy roads. A mild drop would be a bonus, but I definitely don't want to slam the car, just not my thing.
Right now, you have 4 brand options, H&R, KW, Bilstein, and KSport and each have their own subcategory. Best bang for your buck are either the H&R Street or the KW Street coilovers. KW V3 being the higher end one with the Bilstein PSS10 coming right up behind it. I haven't heard many good things about KSport from the shops and enthusiasts I hang around, but Spec_Davis has them on so you can ask him for first hand analysis.
