I have run E85 Ethanol in my car a couple of times. They fill station is a about 20 miles away and is the only one available to the public. Car runs Great on it. Seems to run smoother and have more power but the fuel economy will suffer. I don't know if its because its so much fun to punch it or if it is an effect of the E85. The exhaust also emits a different smell when burning E85. It doesn't smell like spent fuel.
As long as your vehicle is Flex Fuel compatible you will not have any issues or problems.

Generally, a US gallon of gasoline might have 114,100 BTUs while a US gallon of E-85 will only have 81,800 BTUs. So, according to some, it takes 1.39 gallons of E85 to move the same car the distance 1 gallon of gasoline moves it.

The octane may be higher, giving the better performance, but without sufficient BTUs, it just falls short. Use the ratio (1.39:1) to determine the best price for miles driven, and have fun!
