i got logic7 on, bass 4 and treble 4 or 5, i dont know what the best setup would be but this setting sounded good for me so i went with it, agian to each there own.

I have HK & L7 but no MM package, it was not an option here. It's an Audio 20 and I installed UMI for my iPod.
Treble 7, Bass 2, L7 on. On some radio, the bass has to be lowered.
MP3 from old vynil LPs in USB memory stick, L7 off.

i really really really really wish i had a 10 band eq with our HKL7 in our cars. but then again... i might never get out. the HK is not perfect by any means, but it is heads and shoulders better than the BLOSE or BOSE or whatever my old car had. god i hate bose systems.
mine is actually set to -2 treble and -1 bass. this is because to my ears, with a 2 point eq elevation in the treble and bass tend to drown out the mids. this effectively arranges the eq as to set the treble and bass to what i want and pushing the mids up slightly.
but like you guys said, to each his own. our ears are all different.

I don't have multimedia package, but have HarmonKarde as seperate option installed.
Myne is AVE except Tremble is up. This is so that bass is not overdone at higherspeed/volume, works ok like this. Logic7 off mostly, only on for some music.

treble is always on 8 or 9 with me, with bass fluctuating from +7 to +8..
always have logic 7 on though...
anyone experience any issues with excessive rattling coming from the rear deck lid when the bass is hitting??

I have...kinda. It's not noticeable from inside the cabin, however, if you have your music blasting & happen to open your trunk to get something out, you will definitely hear serious rattles.

I was to add a sub soon because the bass is ok for quiet to normal listening, but if you want to crank it up the bass either gets lost or sounds like crap. I want to have my cake and eat it too.
The design of the rear sub is pretty impressive for an OE setup though.

I also experience serious rattles from the rear deck bass speaker of my HK Logic7 system. It only happens when there is really low frequency bass, typical bass is fine. Did anyone have the same issue? and were you able to get it fixed?

Mainly a Matter of Personal Adjustment....
When I picked-up my 2009 C350W at the factory in Sindelfingen I got a chance to examine a technical display of a cutaway (open for internal viewing) C class sport model that featured an accompanying HK Logic 7 slide show running on a viewer. The speaker noted that the HK system is custom equalized for each make, model and interior (MBTEX, leather, or custom). They use a calibrated multi-point microphone system to provide feedback to a computerized analyzer. Using pink noise and frequency and amplitude sweeps they determine a precompensated equalization that gets very close to a flat/nominal response (i.e. input signal matches reaceived signal at microphone array). This is the way it ships from the factory.
The simple tone controls provided in the car are for the owners/operators to further compensate for their own hearing imperfections (damaged, or due to aging for example) and/or their individual preference for more bass or brighter sound. Just set the way you like it.
