air intake...
K&N which most change to, including myself.
then there is and so called cold air intake mod being sold on ebay, i personally thought about purchasing it, but the space in the engine compartment (in my opinon) does not allow for actual cold air to get to the air filters. So I felt it would be a waste of money.
Sound: I didnt notice any difference in sound adding the K&N.

There is not enough room in the engine bay to effectively do it. My last car I made a modified air box where it drew in cold air from the exterior through a 4" pipe which funnelled the air through the lower bumper opening (it was a more direct and open route compared to stock, which snaked from the top of the grill, across the hood and down behind the bumper and headlight.
You best bet would be getting a K&N filter, it is a very simple change. You will need to get two filters. It is reusuable and lasts the life of your car and requires cleaning once or twice a year.
Just replace filters and be done with it. Although K&N are the easiest to get and priced decently, I'd go with BMC F1 filters. It's what the Mercedes DTM car uses so nuff said about that.

thats true about BMC being used in DTM, but alot of guys use them on their crotch rockets because of they way they fit. it doesnt really matter between aftermarket filters when they do the same thing as long as they work.
