X-Pipe problem

So I went today to Platinum Motorsports on Melrose (SoCal) and they said that Magnaflow does not make X-Pipes for my car??? WTF?? I see like 7 people already on this forum that all have Magnaflow exhausts and he says that their places must have had the mufflers before and he said that they are discontinued right now. Where should I go in the SoCal area close to like Beverly Hills or West L.A or even the San Fernando Valley that will 1) have the product 2) Do a good job 3) Be relatively cheap

I went to AAA Performance Exhaust near the West LA area. They knew what they were doing, and they had the magnaflow in stock. Took exactly 40 min and I think the price is fairy reasonable.

I hope you guys have replaced the stuff you took out with stainless steel...

That stuff is going to rot out (rust) in a year or two if not.

The x-pipes for our cars are custom made out of stainless and around $400 - idk if i'd be doing a galvanized x-pipe

Ya I actually went to AAA muffler today, your talking about the one on La Cienega and Venice right? The guy didn't seem like he wanted to put Magnaflow on my car and he's like "get Elite" I dunno and he was helping this other guy there the whole time and I was getting pissed off so I left. I want to know though, does Magnaflow custom make it for our car, or is it just like a universal one thats for any car, but they just get the right size and put it on? and what is "the right size" for our car?

Magnaflow Tru-X x-pipe is the universal 2.25" one. Magnaflow doesn't make custom x-pipe for our car. And the Magnaflow Tru-X pipe is made of 400 series stainless steel for durability and corrosion resistance.

As for Platinum...I've seen some good rides come out of their shop and know a few who got their Brabus kits installed there and turned out good. Not sure about the history of that GT-R, but was it built to customer specification?

Yes thats the one I went to. Thats weird cuz I somehow have an impression that they are a magna flow distributor or smth.. I got mine for aroud $130 i think but I dont really remember.

They are not custom made to our cars. They're basically just pipes and it will be fine as long as you get the right size.

Our pipes are 2.25, and it doesn not void the warrentee

btw, how many threads have we had thats about x pipes??

a decent amount.... but nobody is saying where they got their **** from and like what type of pipes and exact specs for it. besides AZN, I didn't even know that they were called Magnaflow Tru-X. but ya i just wanna get all the info and ppl have only put up their x-pipes but nobody has said how much they paid and stuff.

many have already said that just go to a muffler shop that carries Magnaflow including myself. It doesn't have to be a specific muffler shop. also if you "search" I've already mentioned the price of how much I got it for and location at least two separate times in the many threads on this topic and the except spec in the other thread that you were also reading once.

even in the last thread you started https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w...-mod-c350.html in just the second post the guy already responded with the exact answer you need.

I understand how you feel cuz before I got mine I also read every single thread about x-pipes. I checked everything (price, size, brand, how to install it) before doing it. and I thought my experince with AAA was quite smooth and painless.
anyway, I remember Frank said he got his for 120, and now you know mine. if you hv more questions u can ask me if you want. Hope that helps. =]

This is the exact pipe I got.........
Type: Magnaflow Tru-X Pipes
Inlet/Outlet size: 2.25in. Dual/2.25in. Dual
Center Core: 2.5in.x4in.
Pipe Length: 12in.
Part #: 10790

I bought the pipe online separately (cheaper) and my shop charged $120 to install the x-pipe AND my exhaust so if you're just doing x-pipe, probably even cheaper.

You know you can just keep it stock and save yourself from the future exhaust faliures and about $250. Btw in stock trim it sounds sophisticated. There hasn't been any threads about power increases with it either. Even though I like how it sounds, I would rather save another $350 and reflash my ECU with Powerchip. Just my $ .02
