Anyone else notice CD playback is louder than iPod/Radio?
For those of you with Audio 20 system..did you find yourslef lowering the volume when switching from cd back to radio or ipod??
I took a dB meter and measured sound level from all sources and it confirmed my suspicion that cd playback is indeed louder..
While most of other sources all reads out about the same, cd playback is at least 10dB louder according to my measurement..
While it's not a big deal, I am still wondering if anyone else is also noticing cd playback to be louder..

You might need your MB service Dept to install an amp. There is a MB Bulletin on it and they should install amp for free under warranty. I have the same issue on my new C300 and i just emailed my sales guy and my regular service manager.

the quality of a original cd is 1411 kbps...
the quality of a digital mp3 EAC (exact audio copy) is 320 - 256 kbps...
regular digital mp3 cd's/ipod are 192 - 128 kbps...
radio stations are 64 kbps...
if there is a difference in quality between one and the other it's because there IS A DIFFERENCE IN QUALITY.
check the Equalizer settings on the ipod as well... as that may be lowering the sound output.
