There does not seem to be any threads about installing subs in our W204 lately. Must be more people installing them now. I am interested in any pictures or information on this. Seems power wire is hard to get through the fire wall. If you installed one, especially on an HK system please post.

I will be installing a sub and amp in my S204 when it arrives, I have the new Pioneer mono 1200W class D digital amp wich doesnt need as much current as regular amps, this amp will power the 3" thin Pioneer 12 sub, all will be placed in the spare wheel well to save space.

Will do a writeup when the build starts.

Only the diesel cars have the battery in the trunk, however you can always use the power line feeding the rear SAM module.

What is it with this board that people with no knowledge whatsoever go about making remarks and calling others stupid.

Vic, do you happen to know the size of the power wire going to the SAM. The amp I am buying recommends a 4g wire however I think an 8 would do. Thanks.

I don't know the size, but I strongly recommend listening to the manufacturer. Don't starve your amp for power. Your performance will suffer.

The wire is 16mm2, do not know what this is in AWG exactly but Im guessing around 5g and that should be more than enough.

This wire is also fused directly at the battery with a 30A fuse

Vic, appreciate the help. This amp is fused at 50A so I guess I will run a 4G. Any knowledge on getting thru the firewall.

It is a sort of hub distributing power and other signals to the cars different units.
its located behind the right panel in the trunk.

You don't have to go through the firewall. You can go straight down from the battery and under the car. The power wire can be run through the plastic trays underneath the car. This works perfectly. Then when you get to the underneath of the trunk, there are convenient holes into the spare wheel well, you just pop out the plastic plugs.
